hes singing because in the movie they canceled a part where they were singing if i never knew you but they took it out beavuse when the movie premiered the kids were waiting to get back to the action. thats whhy in the end they have that part but they dont have in the movie because then its going to be confusing like where did that song come from??

the singing scene was a deleted scene and wasn't added into the final version of the movie. they added it onto the 10th anniversary edition so you can choose to watch this version with 2 added scenes or the original movie. the other added scene with pocahontas and smith singing 'if i never knew you'

Good job ! The thing that is really good is that you don't have he same tone as Pocahontas has. You have your own way to say the things you are saying, even if it's not so much.
