  • how can you know know what a person wants to say by atsui cus it has 3 senses?!?!

  • Atsui Inu blows my mind away!

  • i love that guy.. his way of telling jokes is cute lmao

  • what if you don't know that hotdog is not atsui inu..

    Japanese: ittadaikimasu...

You: ittadaikimasu! Watashi wa Atsui inu daisuki...

Japanese: ehhh! atsui inu? wakari masen.

You: atsui inu!... kore wa atsui inu!.

Japanese: sore wa atsui inu imasen. sore wa Hotto doggou desu.

  • this is really cool

  • hahahha hotdog part made mee lauugh XDDD hilariouus =))))

  • Atsui inu xD LOL

  • Slightly off topic.. but I thought that mizu = water?

are there several ways to say "water" as well?

  • @animesport226148 mizu is water, oyu is hot water, also water for tea

    水 を 飲む drink water

お湯 を 沸く boil the water (for tea)

    for references use jisho.org/

  • @Sandslash37 Atsui, when my grandma usually uses it usually means hot. Like you burn your hand, reaction - "Atsui!!"

  • I Dont Get It

  • i'm learning Japanese and these Kanji characters make me crazy

  • @gmpsyche

Kanji characters arent that crazy. Its just the same as Chinese. The only difference in Japanese is you need to know 2 more types of written Japanese which is hiragana and katagana aside from Kanji.

If you know Chinese its very simple with minor differences, some meanings of the Chinese word in the Japanese language have complete different meanings though.

  • @441meatloaf nah i don't know Chinese. That's probably one thing to learn. For one, it's difficult to memorize kanji characters because of their complexity.

    *sighs*

Well, it's hard but I'm trying my best. :)

  • @gmpsyche

Aside from the characters you also have to remember which parts of a word to write first.

  • @gmpsyche

Probably the only reason that makes you think Kanji is crazy because how the word is written has meanings. That is why Japanese kept using the traditional chinese instead of simplified, because simplified words have no true value to the word's description itself.

The only common simplified kanji that i've seen so far in Japanese is school (学) which its traditional form is 學

  • hahaha the ending was pretty unexpected. That just goes to show that you can't ALWAYS literally translate your English into Japanese.

  • hahaha!! atsui inu! hahaha!! XD

  • LOL I always love your interpretation of the kanji.

  • A hot dog is just a sausage. Hot dog is kind of a funny way of describing it. Likewise, hamburgers could just be called beef patties, since they don't have any ham in them. We Americans are weird =/

  • @Clearie552 i think they called it 'hamburgers' cause of the city in Germany... that's what i heard once.

  • I'd like to order an

    熱い犬

    please

  • WATASHI WA TABE NO ATSUI INU! >:D

  • you're gunna eat hot dog? XD

funny way of saying things! LOL

  • Minute Japanese..... Yeah, the are pretty small aren't they? Boom Boom!!

  • Comment removed

  • Rofl... "And no, hot dog isn't atsui inu..." What?! We'll see about that!

  • Haha!!! Right on!! Comrade!!! and Why the Fuck not!!! LOL JK JK!!!!

  • rofl xD

great vid, that was pretty helpful actualy

  • You're right in that, but it was pointing out the radical with a the vague meaning of water in that kanji.

  • atsui inu ahahahahah and how is it then?

  • ホットドッグ

    hotto doggu

    Also

    ホットドック

    hotto dokku

Like many foreign foods they just attempted to Japanize the word. I think originally it was unnatural in Japanese to have small tsu っ before a がぎぐげご ga gi gu ge go letter, so a lot of people pronounced it 'hotto dokku' instead of 'hotto doggu' and began writing it that way on signs.

Same thing with 'bag' -> bakku バック and baggu バッグ

I often see both in Japan.

  • im japanese..lol...atsui inu...made me laugh and made me happy when they said that at the end...lol...i will give 5 stars!! ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Hot Dog isn't Atsui Inu?

    Damn, damn, damn, damn.

  • haha

  • It is if you are on about a Dog that is hot. XDDD

  • mizu is water, but oyu is tempered water. so it should really be hot boiled water.

  • ahahahahahaha atsui inu lol

  • xD atsui inu LOL

  • haha i was going 2 say that 2

    atsui inu...hahaha

  • Damn xD The ending is just so funny!!! Gotta love those Japs. *wipes tear from eye comicly* Ha... Subscribe!

  • Atsui my dog, plz.

  • Lol. Atsui inu. xD

  • oh that makes it a bit easier to see with 'the sun' and 'flames' :3

yes so... what is hot dog anyway XD

  • what does hotdog mean in japansese anyway?

  • ホット・ドッグ

    Hotto Doggu.

    Hot Dog.

  • hotto doggu ga suki desu. X3

  • ore mo hotto dogo ga daisuki :)

  • wats gozaimasu??...i only kno arigato

    arigatto gozaimasu=thank you

domo arigatto gozaimasu=thank you very much

  • good video for beginner.

  • XD

    Atsui Inu! XDD

But at first I thought 'Dog' was supposed to be 'Ken'...

    0~0""" ^^;

  • 'ken' is a on reading ('Chinese' pronunciation) and 'inu' is the kun reading (native 'Japanese' pronunciation)

  • @damiaez1042 nice naruto picture

  • "And no, atsui inu isn't hot dog" That bit was funny.

  • :) Thanks!

  • wow that makes sense ^_^

  • Thanks!

  • hotto dogu

  • ハハ!最後の部分が可笑しいでしたよ

    普通にホットドッグと言いますけどね。

  • LMAO! That last part with hot dog was just too funny.

  • hehe... thanks!

  • lmao

  • hahaha hot dog atsui inu? lol

  • lol!!! atsui inu!

  • HAHA!! Atsui inu! xD

  • Hi, how do i say i love you and i like you in japanese?

  • Aishite imasu. but it's not a regularly used Japanese phrase since, it's more common to hear I like you (anata ga suki) instead of I love you (Ashite imasu). Or when people are in love with each other, you'll probably hear rabu rabu. Which means to be in love.

  • oh! Thanks so much!

  • Oh, and plz remember that following an "S" the "U" is usually silent. Like "Suki" would sound more like "Ski" Otherwise it would just sound weird and might invoke anger from people around you that actually do know Japanese. Bc the last thing you want is to be holding your lover's hand and suddenly have Pocky fly into your eye. It is a funny thought though.

  • Well, to say "I love you" in Japanese, usually people say,"Aishiteru yo" But, that's informal, the formal way to say it is,"Daisuki da yo!" ^^

  • Okay! Thanks!

  • I call them 熱い 犬 anyways へへ

  • what is wrong with the japanese page!! It just takes me to google!

  • Did you type the 'the'?: thejapanesepage (bah. Youtube forbids links...)

  • watashi no inu ga atsui... like the microwaved poodle urban legend

  • Wow! I can finally learn japanese somewhere. Thanks!

  • watakushimo! For me, I need someone to teach me Japanese, and it being summer with no teacher...

domoarigattogozaimasu! :knows she stinks with spaces in roomanji...:

  • Watakushimo isn't used anymore, or very rare...

    And it sounds weird XD

And um yea, it seems like your spaces are having a day off...

  • i've never really used the last one..

  • omg!! now i have something to use to screw with my sensei's head when classes resume!! domo again! >:-}

  • Excellent!!!

  • Thanks!
