Resurrecting the Glass Steagall Act would definitely not have stopped the economic meltdown. As long as the root of the problem is still in operation, namely the Federal Reserve, we would still experience a long business cycle. Removing the Glass Steagall Act only channeled fiduciary media into the financial sector and served banking interests more than other industries.
