  • Hi, just discovered the Acoustic Blues lessons, thanks for posting i really appreciate them. The way they are broken down into sections is great, Thanks again.

  • can you send me tab or explain in great detail what pattern you're picking in the f chord? i can't figure it out for the life of me. please help

  • @BeforeTheSkyFalls Sorry it took me so long. The secret to the F part is to is getting the melody in your head. It's a little different in every version I've heard by Gary Davis or anyone else. IF you still need help, let me know and I'll post a short amendment to the lesson to help you with that part. Due to family issues, I've been unable to create new videos for a long time. I'm getting back into it this fall. Thanks for your interest!

  • Great lesson thanks! Completed this today.. Shall practice before moving on to lesson 2. Thanks a ton!

  • Good video.

I thinks it's easier to describe special or non-intuitive chords you're using like this:

(for example:) 'X33210' (for FMaj7) or '332333' (for C9). It's very compact; people can write it down quickly and get the information perfectly the first time, ... instead of them trying to scribble down some notation of your descriptions of which finger is on which fret of which string.

It's very information dense and allows people to write down new chords.

    Just my $0.02.

  • Hi ya DJ great stuff again! You fhave lots of skill here, its so true what you say about knowing the chords too. thanks for this.

  • I've got several more parts for this lesson, but I'm having some trouble uploading them. I'll have them on as soon as I can. Thanks!

  • Like the way you show the chords first. Makes it so much easier to follow fingerstyle playing. Keep em coming.

  • Thanks! Since everything is based on the chords, it's easier for me to learn songs this way too. Once you know the chords, the picking will fall into place.
