  • sorry man. I like the SCV version better. It sounds more like a "martian" mambo in the SCV version, whereas this one sounds like chaos

  • i made the mistake of watching the SCV onfield version from 04 first

for a college line, this is good, it's really good

but just doesn't compare to SCV

I have to agree with what others have been saying and say that the tenors are what's gunking up the works but it's not that terrible. Not that i can do any better I'm just a horn player with a good ear for drums.

btw someone brought up Bethune-Cookman? Yeah no thanks, this smokes them! Such an overrated group. anyway nice job Spartans!

  • this is a different version than SCV played in '04, did gusseck write his own? i must say i like it better but i'm just trying to figure out the lineage here

  • @phuckles Gusseck wrote the original while playing tenor at SCV in the early 90's. Jon Weber played snare at SCV back then and brought it back to Okie State, then to Michigan State. Both of them have probably edited nearly every year since.

  • You can't "diss" other players until you can play that better than they can....

  • Tenors totally ruined it for me. They were not clean

  • yeah, I was in drumline in hs with a couple ppl that play on state, and one of the guys made tenors. usually he plays clean with the rest of the line but I think i hafta agree with you on this one

  • isn't this the SCV on field warm up for that year...?

  • this is in 11/6 time isn't it?

  • 11/16

  • I hate Martin Mambo... You gota play it to audition for MSU Drumline - it totally is boreing, simple really

  • i might belive you if you could spell "boring"

  • Not the best I've heard State do, but certainly better than this year.

  • B-CC DA BEST IN DA LAND

  • the recording is kinda janky though.

  • sorry but msu performs this way better than osu. more sound quality and better clarity.

  • McFunk B-O-X nuff said!!!

  • This is ok... but if you want to hear/see a really GREAT performance of martian mambo, you should here OSU (Oklahoma State University). Search "osu" and watch theirs!

  • ^^Reviewed. GREAT sound performance by both. However, in my opinion, MSU visuals are more punctuated. Their visuals snap with passion and excitement. The difference between a Great performance and an OUTSTANDING performance. Not taking anything away from OSU drumline, I'm just bias when it comes to Spartans.

  • the same osu that got owned by missouri state's marching band??? yeeeeeeeeeaaaahhhhhh...

  • osu refuses to drum battle after games!!!!?

  • missouri state did the owning at halftime : )

  • you had typed osu as in ohio state

  • no, i mean oklahoma state. sorry

  • im sorry but osu's is not really as good as this 1

  • From one SPARTAN (NSU) to another, this is a Top Shelf performance by your Drumline. Rhythmic precision with just enongh visual effects. OUSTANDING!!
