i bought the backflip here in argentina, and i love it (its just like the american but with google and i can install 3rd party apps). still waiting for the 2.1 upgrade though... i found this on motorola's website "Backflip (Latin America): Upgrade under evaluation" wich i dont quite understand. why the american version gets 2.1 first? isn't it the same phone?

Getting the backflip sometime this week.I thought it was the second coolest phone that att has.Besides from the iphone but i didnt want a phone with all touch screen so thats why i went with the backflip also because it just came out not to long ago and a good thing to show off for when i go back to school:)

The Devour is much faster than the Backflip and the iPhone 4 is certainly beyond the capacity of the Backflip hardware wise. However, I decided on the Backflip because of the design and because of the Android OS on att. I know there's now the Aria phone for att, but the Backflip offers both a physical keyboard and a digital one. I do hate att, but my whole family is with them. When you have a family plan, it's much cheaper. I should get the Backflip tomorrow or Tuesday.

question:the backflip has nice form factor yet it runs on android 1.5 but the devour,not as nice form factor yet it runs android 1.6. So between these 2 which phone woud u neccesarily prefer other than reasons of the carrier it on and the google and yahoo thing(those rely dont bother me att and verizon are both gud services and yahoo and google are both gud search engines).

I have a Motorola Backflip and I got to say , Best phone I have ever owned.

Alot of these reviews are from people who dont even have it.

People that have it wouldnt hate it.

The only reason that Devour is going fast is because of android 1.6.

This will not be my next upgrade from AT&T I'm giving them 2 more strikes then I'm moving to SPRINT And they would CRIPPLE ALL THE ANDROID PHONES THEY GET. thats why the keyboard is a single membrane. it will keep dust, dirt, and lint out. as far as durability against say car keys or whatnot that i'm not sure, but i would guess its got a special coating or etc.

Noah! Android 1.6 does get the Google Turn by Turn Nav! I installed it on my friend's MyTouch 3G a few months ago! So, the Devour does have it! You should correct the video to add this!

the lag might be from the difference in android too, 1.5 to 1.6 has a little speed difference, but nothing like the difference between 1.5 to 2.1, Droid Eris gets 2.1 soon!! Can't wait!!

The Backflip kinda lags because it is running 1.5 OS framework... GOogle Optimize the code to run faster from 1.5 to 1.6 and 1.6 to 2.1... I don't know exactly the specs on both phones but i know 1.5 lags bad lol
