Personally.. I think Aranea Ienith is the best follower, she kills guards in 1 hit with a mere lighting bolt and summons high leveled flame atronach's. (: and by the way in the room where you kill him or not if you look to the table next to it there should be 'Jester's clothes' so I don't see what the point of killing him is. :P Well.. that's how I got my jester set (: and they have the same attributes as Cicero's clothes!

Why is there so much hate for Cicero? He's much more memorable than 90% of the characters in the game. He's not even the bad guy (SPOLIER: Astrid is), and he's the strongest companion you can get in the game, with 100 Sneak, 100 One-Handed, and 97 Archery. Plus, he's funny to listen to! I bet 99% of the people who kill them are ignorant meat-heads. >:|

I found this out when I used my master illusion spell mayhem. I hid in a corner and I casted it, and it affect him and the spectral assassins (I had to perk). So he got up behind the door and started attacking the spectral assassins. Eventually near his death he said his final words and the journal said he was dead. I eventually found his body, and his head was cut off by a spectral assassin.
