@F4ng000 I don't know... I've seen the Yogurt battle. And the Garlic one. If you play to a cook's supposed strength, they can turn it into a weakness. If you want something inventive and new, you're better off working with something strange to you.

Rice seems so simple, but it's an art to execute properly. Risotto is a good example.

@CynicalGenius Na risotto is a totally different king of rice from what most Japanese eat. They mostly eat medium grain. The type of rice used in risotto is a short grain I believe.

But i totally agree in principle, it's a perfectly ok theme ingredient, but I do prefer the meat and fish battles to be really shallow and honest...

Are you kidding? Rice is one of the most versatile and complex ingredients on the planet, not to mention a staple in the Japanese diet. Not all rice is that crap you get at a 3 dollar chinese buffet.
