You've got to respect that GSG-9 is very methodical, constantly simulating and changing their tactics as opposed to simply over-training old ones. I wouldn't hesitate to call them one of the most efficient counter-terrorist units out there.
My grandfather fought in WW2 in the British 7th Armoured Division as the commander of a tank. He served in North Africa (where the Division got their nickname the "Desert Rats"), Italy and took part in D-Day +1 as well as the ensuing push through Europe - Belgium, Holland and, finally of course, Germany.
He never talked about the war much, but what he always did say was that the Germans were excellent soldiers.

So they are also operating in foreign countries. But ONLY if eather requested or, as i said, under extreme situations. Custom crimes are dealed by the SEK units.
What are you trying to say? Germany (like most developed nations) has equivalents to all of them. SEK = SWAT, Kampfschwimmer = Navy SEALS, Jaeger = Rangers. Task Force 101 is no special unit, it's a joint task force. GSG9 is the best Special Unit. Because they are the only Special Unit wich tries to save everyone. Their goal is to not put harm on anything. That ideal keeps the hostages more safety. Completely different then US and British Forces - there first objective is to kill. Not the GSG9. And that makes the difference.

My dear the boys here mix police and military forces. GSG 9 is a police unit, therefore it should not be compared with pure military units as the Navy Seals are, e. g.
Comparable to Navy Seals are the German Waffentaucher Kompanie, composed of Kampfschwimmer (frogmen) and Minentaucher (frogmen specialised on mine sweeping and laying). The German frogmen have a longer tradition than Navy Seals, if my information is correct and ... accoridng to a German documentation - a harder training

The SAS were formed in 1945. Delta Force in the 70s? (some 30 years later). We taught the world our methods, but we were not so arrogant to think we are the best. We also learnt from those that we taught. To say that one unit is the best in the world is wrong. All units teach and learn methods from each other. How eles do you think that they become the best of the best above the rest? You think that they are born with the skills they have?

Since Cold war has come to an End the Bundesgrenzschutz is no more paramilitary Force only "Bundespolizei".

The GSG 9 officers are police officers. They are NOT a military unit. Their job is to SAFE lifes, not to take them. And they never failed. The GSG 9 is trainingAT police units all around the world, even in the USA. This unit is only mobilized for extreme situations or international affairs with german citizens or interests invented. So they are also operating in foreign countries. But ONLY if eather requested or, as i said, under extreme situations. Custom crimes are dealed by the SEK units.

What are you trying to say? Germany (like most developed nations) has equivalents to all of them. SEK = SWAT, Kampfschwimmer = Navy SEALS, Jaeger = Rangers. Task Force 101 is no special unit, it's a joint task force. And 'Black Ops' is just a general term for any kind of operations not officially acknowledged by the acting government - it's not even US specific.
The GSG9 is best compared to the US FBI-HRT - which was created as a reaction to the success of the GSG9.

Meine Informationen hab ich in erster linie von Wikipedia und/oder anderen Infoseiten weil ich mich ziemlich dafür interresiere (nicht nur für die waffen und das schießen und so weiter).
Nicht alle Jugendliche sind assozial, gewaltätig oder beziehen ihre Infos nur aus CoD oder sowas ;)

GSG9 is the best Special Unit. Because they are the only Special Unit wich tries to save everyone. Their goal is to not put harm on anything. That ideal keeps the hostages more safety. Completely different then US and British Forces - there first objective is to kill. Not the GSG9. And that makes the difference.
