This is the ultimate version of this track.Live versions are not often really good but this.... is awesome "I want Your Love" gotta have searchin whata ride with my girl in the late eve... dtowntexasstyle!
I do miss the orginal members and it's hard to compare to the original.. that said. I really like the emotion Sylver puts into the singing and I also like the horns. the original had strings which was awesome but the horns give a little bit of funk to it. probably better for a live performance.
Magnificent. In my opinion this is the greatest song ever recorded - it's the human condition in a song. It's uplifting but also full of longing, it has a wonderful groove, and that horns riff is superb. i was at a festival last week and a dj dropped it - it was instant bliss.
This incarnation of Chic just doesn't do it for me. To her credit, Sylver Logan Sharp tries, and ironically, she's been a member of Chic for 18 years - way longer than the female vocalists Alfa Anderson and Luci Martin, who originally made this song the classic it is today. But nothing compares to the lush, tight production of the original. Missing are the Chic strings, and the superb bass play of Bernard Edwards...not to mention the understated tight drumming of Tony Thompson.
@floydturbo2, LOL at 3:43 the tambourine flies out of his hand, and then the tech guy has to come rescue the bongo setup as it starts getting away from him. I love working live performances...
The Reddings was a funk, soul and disco band founded by Otis Redding's sons Dexter (bass and vocals) and Otis Redding III (guitar) together with cousin Mark Lockett (drums, keys, and lead vocal).
Their most well-known songs include "Remote Control" (1980) / "Doin' it" / "Funkin On The One" / "Class (Is what you got)" (1981) / "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" (1982) / "Hand Dance" (1983) and "The Awakening" (1980
THEY were 1980-88 Name a Black band that CAMEout in the last 10 years
For the Sister Sledge project, Edwards and Rogers wrote and produced "He's the Greatest Dancer" (originally intended to be a Chic song) in exchange for "I Want Your Love" (originally intended to be performed by Sister Sledge).
1977, Needing a singer to become a full band, they engaged Norma Jean Wright under an agreement that she wanted to have a dual career between the band and her solo career. they needed to add another female singer to front the band. Wright suggested her friend Luci Martin, who became a member in learly spring of 1978 Unfortunately the legalities of this contract eventually forced Wright to leave the band in1978, but not before she took part in the sessions for Sister Sledge album We Are Family
This song is best appreciated live. They performed this song on the Tom Joyner morning show back in the late 90's and it literally blew me out of my shoes.
oh my god oh my god my soul has been awakened with a real band. modern artists need to take a long hard look at themselves before they call themselves artists. not just drug users.shiiiiiiittt.
The Good old days - Dont make music like this anymore they couldn't if they tried these days - Awesome song It's one of those songs that is untouchable (but the cover by UK Dance band CrazyPenis is also very Good - Gr8 band - Nile u legen

Nile Rodgers is the one, a man with the groove inside, the new singer has a pretty cool voice and this is an amazing tune especially if played live

You know, I've never seen Niles play another guitar. He always uses that same old, white beat up strat. The hit maker, he calls it.
