Wei's "move" at 00:45 is about breaking the opponents arm, and such moves are absolutely forbidden in any form of Sanda, so how can he do that repeatedly in a competition? it seems like they insist on portraying him as evil, which makes the fight rather strange.

It was originally used by the Kuomintang (KMT) at the first modern military academy in Whampoa in the 1920's. xanda (sanda) is also known as san-shou..yes.

It is chinese gong fu, but not the whole part. The inner gong fu isnt trained, only the moves from traditional gong fu are 'translated' to a modern form of martial arts.

The fighting style is called 'sanda' but for some weird reason, the movie title was released with the misspelling 'xanda'

It's not a miss spelling it is more correct ....x's sound like s's in chinese example xian the city in china sound's like shian .... and for that matter I took a team to compete in taiwan in 2005 and the competeing team against my school used xanda in hte title for there association
