@henkpas I am very lucky to have seen in in Gothenburg in 1996 with the original cast (with tickets reserved for us by BENNY!) and loved every second of it. I can't speak Swedish and the album had yet to be released, so it was all totally new to me. I adored it!
I saw the concert in New York last year and was recently at the London concert too. I think I will go to Finland to see the proper show next year.
it's normal for a musical to have one or two great anthems, but not five to seven. this is just one of it. one of the very few musical works that REALLY deserve being called "masterpiece"
Because they were starving and destitute in Sweden. Robert never went back because he died in America, Kristina dies there too. Have you not seen the show/film or read the books??
I get tears in my eyes nextly everytime when I hear this song...it is so beautiful and so sad! Helen is really amazing. <3

If you liked the books, perhaps you would like the four book series, Vallkulla. This is a similar story of strong women and the men who loved them.

I am so sorry that I never had the chance to see it on stage.
