  • You can get a "fan" (ie unofficial) DVD set of this series with an English dub. I own such a set and have seen all 52 episodes of it. I watched it from December 15, 2011 to January 3, 2012.

Search the internet to find such sellers.

  • Wow...I almost forgot this. It's preschool all over again!

  • Dam how could I have forgotten this?

  • This was a badass show, but the band was even better. Just sayin'.

  • I like it

  • I remember watching this on Nickalodean

  • I used to love this show and still do! I hope they do a DVD :)

  • Another 80's classic.. if they made Nick like they used to- I might be tempted to get cable! Why can't they make kid shows like they used to?

  • @MegaNFer81

Toy companies and merchandising, my friend. Perish the thought that children could be introduced to real social issues like false accusation and lack of a mother figure. Not to mention determination and mutual friendship in the face of realistic consequences.

  • The author of this "fan" DVD has spent lots of time properly syncing the English language audio to exactly match the lip movement of the official French language DVD. And a fact too. Sebastian is voiced by Adrian Knight, who voices Tao in MCOG and Telemachus in Ulysses 31.

  • You can get " fan" DVD's for the English dub for this show. Just search Google for it. I have ordered such a "fan" DVD set and I plant to play all 52 episodes in the December 2011 to January 2012 period. It was the popularity of English language "fan" MCOG DVD's that lead Fabulous Films to eventually relase it offically on 30/06/2008. The "fan" Belle & Sebation I'm about to get is the French official DVD mixed with English language Nickoleodon broacdast copied in to VHS tape.

  • I hated this show because everybody wanted to kill the dog. When I was a kid I used to wonder why the hell they would want to kill the dog, especially when she helped people. Didn't she have a puppy too?

  • thats one big ass dog o.o;

  • Loved this show! I named my first son Sebastien

  • Awsesome show. The time in the left corner was about the time i remember it being on because i used to watch it before school and the ABC. You don't this quality of animation around anymore :(

  • I loved this cartoon. I even named my first dog Belle...

  • Thanks for showing this.

  • Does anybody know where I can download the series? It must be available online because some people are selling it on DVD's, and they are not the copyright holders either. Please email me or respond if you see it available online. Thanks.

  • Very adorable series from my young life, and a beautifull musiek in it! Even now, we have to learn a lot of things from the personnages and their relations in true life, relation between the grand-father and his litte boy, and relations and respects between humans and animals and nature!

  • Wow! I remember watching this on Nickelodeon as a kid!

  • no disrespect to anybody but i hated this show! lol it ran for months and if i remember rightly the closing credits ran for about five minutes!

    again,no disrespect!

  • Amazon sells it in Spanish.

  • used to watch it in French in Belgium. Maybe once i watched it in English or Italian. Cannot remember. All I know is that I used to watch the French version.

  • and I did not see the ending of the English version?

  • I'm 17, cause I found that anime show last year in February and I never watched that when I was young, cause it wasn't on in the 90s like Maya the Bee when I started to watch it in Polish when I was little, cause my dad video tape the episodes, okay move on to that show and I was never there in the 80s. The English version, but why they made the song short, no words were translated and the opening scenes isn't the same as Japanese original scenes opening

  • I used to love this as a child. OMG

  • RIP Cecile Aubry

  • I always thought this cartoon was the cause for so many of our generation to be on antidpressants. Kids lookin for his mom, and people are trying to kill his dog. Crazy. But it brings back memories. Friends to this day for some reason have blocked this show completely out of their minds and think Ive made it up.

  • The French one is so much better than this one

    watch?v=0TNjiCAzhRg

  • This show was to dramatic for me back in the day, lol. Awesome :-)

  • awesome! I wasn't able to find the english version. thanks for the add! I remember watching with the ever so awesome..mysterious cities of gold and the little prince.

  • AWESOME I loved that show when I was young....

  • Now that I listen to the theme again, you're right. I also think it's cool that they kept the Japanese names in the credits unlike most U.S. translations of anime during the '80s which tried to pass the shows off as Western creations. I love Shuichi Seki's character designs (he worked on many of Nippon Animation's World Masterpiece Theater series in addition to B&S).

Except the copyright year in the credits at the end is wrong... the show actually aired in Japan during 1981-82.

  • Just so I'm up to speed, Belle was a dog right?

  • yep..everyone thought she was a monster

  • I loved Belle and Sebastian when I was a kid. Thanks for the nostalgia!

  • Great cartoon.

  • YOu made my year!! I aboslutely adored this show as a child and literally had tears running down my face as I listened and watched the theme song 15 years later... does anyone have any idea how I can track down the dvd /videos of the ENGLISH version?

  • Fabulous Films is trying to do a DVD, but they're having trouble locating the English masters. So who knows when/if it will come.

  • @RowieFan Good luck man I been looking for it myself. I loved this cartoon as a kid and I always wanted to have a little dog I could put in my front pocket like Sebastian used to lol! OH THE MEMORIES :)

  • @RowieFan Oh trust me dude I been looking for it myself and I can only find it in spanish. I don't mind spanish since it's actually the language I first watched it in when I was little but then later on I watched it in english back when Nickelodeon was good.

  • Shit, for so long I forgot what this show was called! I watched this every morning when I was a kid.

  • I agree....I loved this Cartoon...Brings back old memories...when life was simpler and I thought I was invinsible. Love this show!!!!

  • This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I never missed an episode.. I remember you had to watch them in order..Sebastian was searching for his mother and everyone was trying to catch the "great white monster", Belle.

  • bless you for this. i have looked for ages to find it :) awe i loved this cartoon. Long live old school Nickelodeon
