  • These turbos on the G35 are just merely running 6-8 psi. They have larger fuel injectors, some has intercoolers, and a fuel pump accsy. additional. The ECU/PCM computer is adjusted (it's a software that's user friendly). Spark Advance is lower, fuel per throttle % is bumped up, plus doing hopefully some LTFT / STFT tuning.

    Until the owner gets himself a scanner/tuner for it 'till he could increase boost, add fuel and maybe lower timing a bit.

    you sir are a complete retard. LPE has made a Vette that ran an 8.95 1/4 on pump gas. the ZR1 run a low 11 from the factory, and with minimal work, you can have a ZR1 doing 9.8 at 145.74, and will do nearly 200 is a standing mile.

  • Not very impressive, that was an L89, 350-cid, 5.7L, 230 horsepower, 80's C4 Corvette. 12.9 sec in the quarter for the twin turbo G35, that is sad. My naturally aspirated C6 would eat that Twin Turbo G35 for lunch. I run mid 12's easy.

  • @dtreysoz It's really not that difficult lol the overdrive gears are strictly designed for that purpose. When my A4 drops it into 4th the rpm's go way down. City driving is a much different story however...

  • Why? when you can have a 12 second car that gets 30 MPG. I think it is the best of both worlds for daily drivers. If you are building a drag car, then yes, a V8 makes more sense. But for a great all around car, that gets good gas mileage and has 350hp+ a turboed import is best.

  • Just because he has a twin turbo setup doesn't mean he has very high hp. A basic TT kit can lead to perhaps 380 whp or so. It's only the first of several stages of boost. You need to upgrade your fuel system to run higher boost (pump, return system, etc.). You need to upgrade your internals to run more boost. It depends on the kit and what else he has. 380 whp of a basic kit is with a mere ~7 psi or so. I'd say he could be right on track with the first stage.

    APS is drastically overpriced.

  • It's a bit difficult to explain everything in a youtube comment, but the early G35's have a lower hp and higher torque VQ35DE. The later models have the "revup" version which features higher hp and slightly lower torque. For the G37's, they have a different motor which is greatly changed but more expensive and possibly heavier. The sedans have the better motor for some odd reason. Anyways, that gives you a start. Try the various forums for the most details. The VQ is an impressive motor family.

  • The G35 has the same powertrain as the 350Z, so very good. I personally consider the 350Z/G35/370Z/G37 powertrain family the next mkiv supra of Japanese cars.

    I mean, you have at least a half dozen different full turbo kits that I have come across and I have not even tried looking for them. Tons of body stuff. Full suspension, etc.

  • it just looks like he shifted into 2nd too early if you do that even with the stock g35 its pretty much the end to a good race.... go to aps website the aps twin turbo kit for the g35 is insanely cool there's no way it's that slow seems to me like a driver problem... honestly I like the auto-stick G better anyway seems like every video you see with manuals they just cant handle the power through the gear box it always looks like unsmooth transitions between gears.

    600crank hp 3,500lbs, on straight pump. 600whp on pump with meth, and more for race gass.

  • There are plenty of other imports with v6 hundias almost all have v6's, there are v6's in toyotas, hondas, and well come to think of it almost every import brand has one. NSX's v6 is pretty good.

    Next stock except for clutch, no american transmission will do 7's 8's stock, and this is a manual not an auto.

    Next the vq35 can do 2000+hp with sleeves, and rev to 8 grand. 3v heads flow like dogs taking a shit, if you make the valve big enough a 2v could do the job.

    BTW 1000+hp on stock head faggot.

    vq35=900rwhp on stock sleeves just rods and pistons, more displacement than 2jz stroked, one of best flowing heads out there (stock), has good transmission attached (better or as good as Z32 tranny) (has done 1000whp+ in a drag car runs 8 seconds in near stock form only mod clutch).

    Can make as much power as you want, the only downside to this engine is the cost. Otherwise its among the best.

    Plus can make 300rwhp N/A. No other import engine can.

  • you can safetly run about 400-450 hp on a stock vq35, the hr block is thicker and can handle more abuse, if you want to talk about strong engines the vg30dett out of the 300zx will laugh at 500-550 hp. i am huge fan of the vq35 but i don't think i would turbo one, i'd just do a mild n/a build, enough power to beat a lot of cars and will serve well as a daily driver, if i wanted a drag engine i would buid up a nice rb26dett or vg series engine.

  • HR blocks are stronger, before sport compact car magazine went under they tested a stock block turbo z and went low 12's high 11's, this guy driving just can't drive, look you might not like nissans and thats cool to each his own, but a Z or g35 withover 400 hp will run better then high 12s.
