Innovative use of racks and wheels to generate the visual for the guitar strings. The rolling Segway style thing in the back that played the bass tones was a little lost in the animation. Overall fantastic animation. How did you synchronize the animation to the music? ei: Did you use a synchronization script / software or did you spend a lot of time manually configuring key frames?
Nice job, but whats the point of the thing that rolls around in the back? I tried to listen but I couldn't hear anything that seemed to come out of it.
VERY COOL! I wish they had graphical software that sophisticated at the engineering school I went to. Good job with the coordination! Many thanks for posting.
I really enjoyed the music!! I mean no disrespect when I say Animusic has better animation but I truly liked the style and think you should continue! You can be the next generation!
Excellent job! Yes, for a college student doing it for kicks it's wonderful! If you still have the files to whichever program you used, render it again with higher anti-aliasing please!
i love how the drums hit the sticks, and how the pitch of tge strings is controlled by wheels. and the crotales. in fact, even though its not as pretty, as animusic, i really like the originality of this.
Good job! I love the clever instrument designs. It took me a moment to realize that the guitar strings were being tuned to specific notes by the rolling wheels... I'd love to see an expanded version of that drum machine with more drums.
Excellent. :D could have used more detail and action movement with the instruments, but considering this takes lots of work to do, its very fantastic. :D 10/5
LOL Awesome. Chicken soup for any nerd's soul. Nothing beats computer generated music videos featuring robots and computer parts. LOVED IT.
This kind of music really deserves it's own genre. The music like this, and Animusic can't really be described. The only way I can generalize it is that it is how a robot would make pop and rock music.
I agree - the track isn't dynamic enough to make it really good. Excellent creative eye, and very good animation work over all. Great job on the consistent rendering and lighting, good camera work - if a bit fast. If you were looking to imitate Animusic, I'd say let your scenes do the work for you, instead of trying to make it more interesting with your camera paths.
Yeah, great song and a great video. If one were to compare it to animusic, I'd say this is worthless. But, on the other hand, almost anything would be worthless compared to animusic.
@RainyShadow LOL TUBE and a slow Rig will Kill the Sync 512 mb ram and a 10 mps worx good (I also suggest a i5 Vpro HD MB from intel the dq57tm is a lil raw ie just released it needs a min of 2gb ram to run it it has hdmi 1080P output cant test the HDMi No Hd Tv LOL but it makes tube more synced
I've kinda wondered about who would imit8, if not emuL8, Animusic. I must say, dhugger, that your video was artistically impressive. My one criticism was how the large wheels could EZLy move those bars so quickly. But aside from that, wow! I really like your stuff!
Could be the wheel is free, but there's a big motor somewhere under (or within) the bar, moving it back and forth. That way, the bar would in fact be moving the wheel.
I really like the music! It's my kind of music...not a lot of people say that now a days. but it's really good.I love it. The animation is really good too.
its a really great. But the reason animusic created the proprietary software was to make it seem more like the music was actually being played by the instruments. anistudio breaks down midi files and using the 12 algorithms that were wrote for that program syncs them to the animation making it look more real. To get your animation to look more real the instruments need to react slightly before the note is played. right now it looks like it reacts to the music kinda like a light show.
youtube isn't the best for showing a "quick" response. The notes are hit at the proper times. Animusic wrote the software more to save time animating than to strike the notes at the right times. Traditional keyframing to them is a long and tedious process.
true but here is a quote they said "Our technique differs significantly from reactive sound visualization technology, as made popular by music player plug-ins. Rather than reacting to sound with undulating shapes, our animation is correlated to the music at a note-for-note granularity, based on a non-real-time analysis pre-process. Animusic instruments generally appear to generate the music heard, rather than respond to it."
Right, visualizations for say iTunes react to frequencies and basically make a fancy "graph." Like Animusic, my instruments' movements need to start before the notes are hit. Again, Animusic's software simply automates this process, where I (and everyone else who tries this who doesn't want to write tons of code) need to do it manually.
very interesting video. Just proves that the people of Animusic aren't the only ones who can produce good animated music work ;) I love animusic's stuff, and I was happily surprised to see another doing similar work.
Kudos to this!
If I may make a constructive comment... I couldn't find the "bass" element until I looked really hard. Perhaps highlighting the bass "zoom" or adding a colored light would have made it stand out more.
