  • as i watch this my computer was crying

  • @beanssissy1235z ....lol

  • You sure those terminal ends arent copper?

  • @maxpullara1 ...Yes i am sure those terminal ends are not copper. Gold is the best condcutor for electronics.

  • well butch if you can only get 1.25 lb for motherboard and finger cards i will give you 2.50 lb all day long

  • WoW-! I'm taking my computer apart right

  • @rickster348 ...There is money is you wanna scrapp for cash. Just need weight to make money...Peace

  • @lmvelazquez100 *pours cement in old dead computer* *takes to dump* gets 100 dollars more then normal XD

  • @crazymn321fan....That sounds awesome.....But if i get caught, will you send me cigs for my new boyfriends in prison...Peace

  • I'm going to sleep, when I wake up, I bet you, I will be a top comment.

  • Power supplies are extremely dangerous. do not be taking them apart unless you know what you are doing. Research a bit on grounding safety etc.. I've had instructors in the past that didn't ground properly and some lost feeling in their limbs or motor controls in their limbs that were affected. for a few bucks power supplies are not worth the health risk involved if you do not properly respect the hardware and do your research on electrical grounding.

  • @phi0x ....Very interesting...I don't take power supplies apart any more...Too much trouble. I sell as is...Thank you for the comment...Peace

  • How much would you say you could make from a single, average 5 year old computer? What is the price difference if you just take it in pieces or the whole computer?

  • @TTGxBUTCH...Good Question. The entire computer can get u $.20lb so you might get $2.00....Buy taking it apart and saving the pieces you can make $1.25lb motherboards. $5.50lb cpu.$.35lb hard drives $.20lb power supplies or save the items and sell them on ebay or directly to a company (i.e) piedmontecycling . com...Thank you for the comment ......Peace

  • @lmvelazquez100 can oyou plz answer my question!!!!!!!!!!! where do you sell it ???

  • @4lifebloods ... I usually sell on ebay or go to PIEDMONTECYCLING . COM

  • @lmvelazquez100 are they actual gold or gold plated???? how much it worth???

  • @4lifebloods ...its gold plated. but it is still gold...You will need a lot of computers and electronics that have gold to make money. All computers are different so the money is not exact.

  • I was looking for the video that showed how to get the gold out of the boards, but couldnt find one. PLease let me know if theres something im missing.....

  • Dude, don't just go opening power supplies willy nilly. Those capacitors can stay charged long after the computer is shut down and give you a serious electric shock.

  • @seedyoldman ......Nice to know.....ZAP...lol...Peace

  • Hi, What value has the motherboards per lb or kg? Here in Sweden there is no where I know that you can sell them at a hobby level (must be somewhere by the dumpster if you have a company). I just put about 15 motherboards and cpu in the recycling bin as I didn't know where else to go with it. I strip the motherboard out - take the wiring out, alloy cpu cooler, and scrap the rest as steel. The harddrives are a good source of alloy - didn't see that mentioned here. cool to see the vid!

  • @snoozinghipo ....check out ebay...sell them locally or try scrap yards...somone has to take them out there.

  • If you took an ounce of gold and spread it out to the thickness of the gold in those pins it would cover several football pitches. You would need to process tons of this stuff to recover that amount of gold.

Whilst it is economical to do this on an industriel scale there is no way anyone will get their money back by doing it in the garage.

  • @TheSpiritof1969 ...you are correct..you would need alot of electronics to make it happen. Myself and other scrappers have the capability of getting a few hundred computers a month. For those scrapper is worth it...Thank you for the comment....... Peace

  • cool is some of the gold white

  • @meekdogg1234 ...Its mainly yellow....Peace

  • Thank you, Mario, but your princes is in another castle.

  • this has been done already in other of ur videos explaining whats in them but stripping the power unit isn't so there is something u new in this.

  • @TheSabre84 ...this was one the of the 1st videos i made. there was confusion for some new scrappers on what is inside the computer. I had to make a 16 min vid to show them....Peace

  • would you make a video about laptops it will help me out and for new scrappers and old ones too. Liked your videos.

  • @Rocky7731 ...I have have a few. Very small parts but sure i can make a video...Peace

  • i would just melt down the aluminum and copper, pour them into ingots, and sell it. i wouldn't melt the gold or palladium because the melting point is far to high.

  • @megamaster1011 ...i would love to see a video on that. Would be interesting...Peace

  • there's no solid gold in the computers, it's just plated gold.

  • @theredscourge ...You are correct. The boards have to be processed to extract the gold.

  • Being raised in the scrap business, the aluminum and motors are pointless to get out. waste of you're time, it takes so many of those just to get a few pounds. The gold is worth it only if you can melt it down yourself(Which isn't easy)

  • there is no real gold in any computer parts its all fake same with the so called platinum...the only the worth salvaging is the copper and aluminum!!!!

  • theres about four cents worth of copper in that cooling fan

  • I think it's funny how we sell all of our solid gold bullion to the Chinese, they make money from selling us all this electronic shit they've made out of it and then we go to whole load of grief trying to get the gold back out of it! Mad world.

  • @MrKettleson ... I have found companies that are try to keep the scrap in the us.

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time Mike!

  • this guys is coked out!

  • @KatDady1017 .....LOL

  • Is one computer worth $10 in scrap metal if the parts are separated like in this video?

  • Comment removed

  • hey you can sell the fan as a copper bearing motor dont through out

  • @jrpincctxxx ...i sell all. Thank you for the comment...

  • have you made the video of gold extraction yet i could not finbd it. If you have please let me know i have about 600 over last year that i am holding on to

  • @jrpincctxxx ... no not yet...the company has not yet responed to me..

  • I always hear investors saying silver is consumed and gold isn't. So how is gold used in so many products without it being consumed?

  • @Pragmaticalised ...look at the price of gold..they want you to buy silver to raise the price...the more people who want it, the higher price you will pay for it...Peace

  • @Pragmaticalised gold does not corrode or form any oxides. because of this it is easily converted, precipitated, or extracted from any source.

  • Don't destroy the CPUs! They're worth more to collectors then you can get from the gold alone

  • @DidntKnowWhatToPut1 ....you connect me with the collectors and i will give you a mike the scrapper dvd when i done making it...Peace

  • How do you know that there is gold in there? By colours?

  • @isaacbateman76 .... take a look at a memory board or a cpu. do you see that shiny gold metallic pins? thats gold. you need alot to make money from that. check out waht people get for that on ebay...Peace

  • Everything in the PC has gold inside

  • @isaacbateman76 ...gold is the best conductor for electronics..look at the plugs from your printer you should see gold in that. look through my video's you will see alot of products you purchase have gold...Peace

  • @lmvelazquez100 gold is what the aliens are after! we were just a slave race designed to mine it for them! AAAHHHH!!! *puts on tinfoil hat*

  • @Duckyistrippin ....omg i hope i have enough aluminum foil to make hats for me and my familly.....

  • What would you want aluminum for?

  • @cod4boy45 ...we sell aluminum for scrap metal, to be recycled into other things...Peace

  • @cod4boy45 aluminum is worth about 85c a pound, that heat sink for example alone would be worth about 40c. not bad for one little part. Copper on the other hand is worth about 3.80 a pound. Get a bucket of copper bits together and you'll get a few hundred bucks.

  • @daxxas ...that is correct not bad for a part-time job...you are the boss and you work when you want too....Peace

  • @daxxas 40¢? You could get between $1 & $5 if you sold the heatsink to us computer nuts... This whole scrapping computer parts thing just doesn't make sense if the parts are still working--they're worth more intact if you know the market.

  • if you spent 4 hours updating the computer you can sell it for $80-$100.00 , and your stealing parts from people who are not even born yet , a full 56 Quart container of ram fingers is word around $1000.00 but you could fix 2200 computers with that ram , what a waste of Ram :( QC

  • @Quaaludedude714...I can sell it to someone who just works on computers...I understand your thinking...I have so many projects i am working on that i can't do it right know,...Peace

  • @LongBean420..All computers are different. I know once my scrappers see this video they would know exactlly were to look for the gold. They would leave no stone unturned....Peace

  • @gigie555....If i had one computer i wouln't do it. You would have to have 50lbs or more to make some money on the recovery process.

  • All this gold you are talking about is gold plated metal. The gold plating is very thin. You would be very lucky to get more than a few dollars worth of gold from a computer. Is that worth a few hours of work?

  • theres alot more gold in a computer then what ur showing, out of one computer i scraped i got about 2.5 grams of smelted gold

  • @TheUltraNinja...It does happen. i made many mistakes. Thats why i want you all to make money from my video's & not more mistakes. Pleae review all my scrapping videos "Grasshopper" and one day you can become the teacher. PEACE...

  • Nooooo! DAM IT. I had 40 PC's and there monitors! given to me from a local prep school in my area! I tried to sell them and No One wanted them! I ended up throwing them away at the school dumpster! bit by bit. Oh man! what a loss! I have all the time in the world. I wish I had known this! Well I do believe there is more opportunity for this kind of thing Next time! I'm really getting into the idea of precious metal treasure hunts. So exciting :) And its everywhere! once you become aware of it.

  • check out my page and join up it is free to do and only takes 10 to 15 mins a day online to do the money add's up

  • @flackjakk.....Thank you for your comment. Alot of scrap yards are know accepting those "flat wires" with no need to process. If you have many computers to scrap you can make good money. it takes about 2 -5 minutes to take apart a computer and if you have 10 computers @ $11 a computer per your estimate, you will have have $110.00 for less than an hours work. Many people are unemployed and are looking for ways to feed their families. My videos are helping that cause. PEACE

  • been there done that, this gy is exagerating especially with those flate cables its almost impossible to get the miniscule amount of copper out of it and most scrap yards wont accept those kinds of wires unless you process it. your better off going and doing some extra hours at your job than spending 8 hours on this for maybe get $11 bucks and cuts on your hands and fingers.

  • @bill23138...some copper pays almost $4 a lb.

  • cooper is worthless

  • my friend may give me 64 old cd drives and i realy feel hapy about that i may try this or not...

(see my channel for what i do about them) d[O_O]b

  • @Gatewayuser200...I understand were you are coming from. I find friges to be a waste of time for me. Peace

  • @lmvelazquez100 fridges and appliances is where the moneys at, load it up, drop it off, nothing to take apart, or unscrew, just cut the cords off and kick em out, fast easy money.

250 pound fridge is 30 dollars, nothing to it.

I say time VS profit, if its not an air conditioner or a computer, its not worth taking apart.

  • Scraping computers is such a waste

  • be careful with those heavy pieces of aluminum ... we all know aluminum isn't known for its weight, well maybe its stainless ... about the same price per pound by me at least , but i came across a piece which looked similar looked like stainless steel felt like it too ... something was off so i decided to investigate to my surprise copper!!! hell yes , just be on the look out is all

  • I will soon be making a video on getting out the gold. If your intrested, you can sell the parts to scrapyards.Thank you for the comment...Peace

  • Hi mike i am new to scraping and i am finding your videos very helpful i didnt know about the gold in the computers i just found out about the copper in tvs lol what do i do with the gold parts? thanks a bunch keep the vids coming shellie

  • @doganakgun.... That is the Million dollar question...I am working with a company to get all the material to start making those videos. Thank you for the comment...Peace

  • Hi there mike, could you please tellw us how to take the gold of the CPU (and memory?) and melting it? You making nice vids there keep doing it please :) Thank you

  • @angryadrien....Very soon.

  • When are you making the video about smelting?

  • from where so much gold?? joke :P

  • @juergenheidom....versuchen Sie nicht, lassen Sie sie gefährlich werden. Vielen Dank für Ihren Kommentar

  • Solche historischen Teile gehören auf den Sondermüll

  • @zackarydemon....The videos posted are for people that need the cash and at the same time find electronics to be interesting. I became interested in soldering after scrapping boards and know i am looking into taking classes in building computers. I thank you for you post...Peace

  • well if I have any parts that I can use and make stuff with i'm gonna keep it, like the cpu fans, hook it up to a 9v battery and it works, I could care less about money in my life.

be a real scraper and make stuff with it, life is not all about money, I understand if your in a crunch but make a hobby out of those electronics and make stuff.

  • @fdlfkoo...Power supplies are about $.20lb....you can get more money from them if you seperate. Aluminum, wire, board, steel & copper.

  • On those power supply's how much for them?

  • memoryboards = ram = $

  • "memory boards" = RAM

  • @loczster...I have not made a video on getting the gold out of eletronics. I am worried if someone gets the chemicals they will blind themselves or worse a child might get in it. Thank you for your comment...Peace

  • great video...I have a question did you do the video on how to get the good stuff out and smelt it ourselves? again great vid.

  • @hughesbil451....EBAY! chect out what people are getting for computer scrap....You will be impressed. Thanks for the commen...Peace

  • where would be the best place to sale boards and cpu and stuff if the local scrapyard doesn't buy them,

  • as for the gold process you need a lot of material to make it worth it. Thank you for the post...

  • i bet you spent more money for the process than the value of the metals you obtained

  • getting gold from the boards is very dangerous. involves many acids & fumes. When i get time to sit down to do it, i will so all how it is down. Thank you for the comment.

  • yah you say youll show how to get gold when will you do that?

  • that will be in another video... There are a few acids you have to use and they are not pleasant.

  • Hi, You mention that you will show us how to harvest the gold from the computer parts. Can you tell us how to do that?

  • Thank you for your comment. I forgot to show the hard drive. LOL.

  • Pretty cool, looking forward to seeing some more
