  • Thanks for this video! This is how I found out my memory was bad. I just swapped around the memory and ended up with one bad bar. Removed it and now I can just use my old crappy dell again.

  • Its a RAM problem guys, you need new RAM. I don't know how much is suppoerted, but I know they are shipped with 256MB... I tried to upgrade a friends to a gig and it did the same thing. After taking it out and leaving it with the original 256, it worked fine! Hope this helps

  • my Dell is working again!Here's what I did-there are 2 RAM modules, I have removed the module A and put module B to position A.Dell boot up with half RAM memory so after shutdown I installed also the second RAM module and it's working now fine.Let me know, if it helped also to you.

  • Same thing happend to me. I reinstall window xp..worked for couple of hours than that flashing light and it does not boot any more.

    I just ordered heat sink and cooling fan, so if it starts aftrer I change tham, I will inform you.

  • i have he same issue with my Inspiron 510m also it was working fine nothing weird .. i just reformatted it reinstalled windowsxp .. everything a ok .. i shut it down and left it again it was working fine for years .. i left it like sitting for a week and i tried was gonna use it and then This same thing is happening to it .. actually it just happened today .. same thing .. maybe someone can help us regarding this issue .. thanks
