I hate the name aggrotech, and wonder where it came from. It sounds like something teeny boppers come up with to make it sound more cutting edge. Daft Punk is electronica, too.

I prefer to use the musical characteristics as they are on paper in the categorization, it makes for better accuracy.

Well some of the earliest bands who began experimenting with samples, machine sounds and electronics(Throbbing Gristle for example) were signed to a self established record label called Industrial Records.

And that name apparently stuck.
