I'm 57 yrs old and have been mowing all of my life. I began cutting grass for extra spending money when I was 7 yrs old. I grew up in a small town and cut 6 or 7 years weekly from March thru Oct each year. I've been mowing the 8 acres I own now for 32 years and mowers have become a hobby. I use a Bad Boy Lightning (60" deck with a 26 hp liquid cooled Kawasaki) along with a Swisher 60" tow mower. The Swisher is pulled behind the BB and offset to the left, so I'm mowing a 10 ft path. Have fun!
Yes you're right in waiting until you get an air filter on the engine before using it. Dirt and dust sucked into the engine will damage it quickly. Just look for the model and serial # 's on the engine when ordering parts.
@StanWilhite PS. You didn't waste your time if you learned anything and/or had any fun while working on it. Sometimes things you learn while working on something may not benefit you right away, but will come in handy in the future!
@StanWilhite Yeah thanks for the comments, I'm certain the air filter assembly missing is the cause for the engine not being able to run longer than 2 seconds. I found the part I need, and this video shows that I wanted to make sure it was capable of running before getting it. And yeah you're right, I learned a thing or two from doing that. Perhaps "waste" wasn't the best word to use.
@StanWilhite Oh yeah and the benefit from messing around with that LT 8 is that it kind of prepares me for what to expect when working on the Craftsman II.
damn you took alot of stuff down in your by
