Just so you all know, these are not my hamsters. Also, this was taken a long time ago and they have all since died and the people who owned them no longer have hamsters. This cage was also a temporary home for them while the owners were moving.

The wheel is not good. You should use full wheel. The habitat is too small for 3 hamsters. Where is the house? This is not the right way to take care of a hamster. Put them in a good cage, with houses and wheels, and you'll se that they will stop to make backflip. Backflip is not a brain problem. It's generated by an unsuitable habitat

I once got a hamster because this is all it did in the cage in the pet store: backflips. Bring it home, and come to find out that it's the meanest little hamster I've ever seen. Never did one backflip in the cage at home.

I am sorry to break it to every one but that is not a cute trick flipping is a neurological problem passed down through breding it is involuntary of the hamster and they can hurt themselves if they fly into something hard this problem only becomes apparent after about 4 months of age there is also a gene called star gazing it occurs round the same age and is as bad this is when the hamster looks straight up and then fals my hamster has it and ofen fals of high areas in his cage( notin I can do)

Pick hamsters that are 4 to 6 months old. Waiting until the hamsters are at least 4 months old is important because there are neurological problems that may be genetic that causes star gazing (the hamster looks straight up and falls over) or flipping (the hamster stares upwards and then does a partial or full back flip.
