You can input the IP address manually. Setup it up so it is on the same subnet.

Example - If your PC IP address is 192.168.1.2, set the Xbox IP address to 192.168.1.8

yeah i think this is a little different than an bridged connection...a bridged connection combines the two connections...people tend to bridge with an xbox becuase they can run programs for the xbox through the computer. This is usually done with two ethernet ports so then can still have a decent connection...but with a bridged connection I believe you need a special kind of cable called a "cross over cable"..this method is good for people who dont have a cross-over and is a little easier

you can't get xbox live with wired internet. The internet has to be wireless so that you can plug the ethernet cord into the back of the computer.

ok for you who need help from a pro listen to these words first you go to run type cmd from your pc then type ipconfig then you will find your ip adress type in on yo xbox then type in on yo pc cmd ipconfig/all then you will find yo dns servers and yo physical address then on yo xbox were it says dns servers type those in then click right screen were found the ip and all that and type in were it says mac yo phsical address and thats it and restart yo modem dont just unplug it.
