  • rip

  • what twat

  • Some of the Peugeot supporters was clapping when he crash

  • @nicolaischafer97DK Some Peugeot supporters are only alive because it's illegal to kill them.

  • @xXMasterXx500 if he'd cleared the tyre wall then he'd definatly be dead along with afew photographers!!! Thank god that tyre wall did the job

  • It's so easy when you know what you're doing......

  • oops?

  • This was much more dangerous for the photographers than for McNish himself.

  • @ShionShinigami That is so true :-)

  • And maybe the most horrorific car pulverize that i've ever seen

  • It's a miracle that Allan survived...

  • did the driver die

  • @MrSonic2202

No he was ok jus a little shaken up but fine

  • Quote from Daytona 24H!! " it's quite quiet at the moment isn't it ? It is, I didnt want to say it cause every time we did at Le Mans we saw an Audi on it's roof" lmao

Remember watching this live and honestly thought he was dead, great respect for Mcnish

  • beautiful damagted car xDD

  • Dude hiding behind the scooter is boss

  • TV director could have atleast waited until McNish was out of the car before he showed the replays... Dick.

  • THEY SAY 175mh/h omg.......

  • my grandpa is a huge audi fan when he annoyed me one time i showed this to him... made him shut up

  • @105kissy makes no sense

  • respawn, he must be a Gran-Turismo player.

  • And they still won the race. GO AUDI!

  • driver error, bad error

  • @rapperdoctordee McNish didn't see the Ferrari, the other Audi hide it from McNish's view so he just took the corner without realizing there was a car there. Very unlucky for both of them.

  • :O

  • bricks were just shat

  • I won't sugarcoat it: 25 years ago, we would have lost an Audi driver in either of those accidents at Le Mans this year. I say "either" because if the McNish accident had happened first and proved fatal, the other two Audis would have withdrawn from the race, meaning the second accident wouldn't have occurred.

  • erizo!!!

  • DAMN that could have been real bad for the spectators

  • @jtdrye I belive those are photographers and track marshalls. Actual spectators are behind the fence in safe.

  • Thank God they put a roof on these cars this year.

  • @LS1350Camaroz28 Not this year: since 2007 several cars have been closed cockpits (mainly Peugeot). Likely initiated by these accidents, it has been suggested to make closed cockpits mandatory at least LMP1 category starting in 2014. For any factory team effort that would be the only option anyway due the aero advantages.

  • DAMN those r18s look meeaannn

  • that guy in the blue top never even noticed at first

  • can't believe he walked away form this

  • @Harryscarvlogs 190mph through barrier suzuka?

  • I watched this unfold on live TV and I freaked the hell out. I assumed the worst for both the driver and spectators/media bystanders.

  • i can honestly say that was his fault. What in the hell was he trying to do? There was no way he was ever gonna make that.

  • @DaBandiiT Well, McNish said at some interview, he was basicly trying to going pass the No.1-Audi, but he could´nt see the Ferrari. He was just wondering, why the Audi was going so "slow". As soon, as he noticed, why the other Audi was´nt going on the absolut max, McNish knew, the result gonna be bad - and he was´nt wrong ! Thank god, he could get out of the car and was unhurt. Bot without a doubt, going such a risk at a 24H race was/is EXTREMLY stupid...

  • @dtmfan hmm. thats weird he didnt see the ferrari. And only an hour into the race too. But what do I know. Ive never driven a 180mph p1 audi.

  • @DaBandiiT Well, what do i know lol. All i can say, whatever McNish was seen, or better, NOT seen...such a move is an absolutly mindblow thing to do round about the Dunlop bridge. Especially, as we are talking about teammates here. If you wanna overtake just for the fun of it, there are the Hunaudiere straights, what would have been less than a mile away...

  • @dtmfan haha. But they have to make split second decisions, he committed and payed the price.

  • @DaBandiiT Very true. It reminds me about the Prost/Senna war in F1. Porst once said to Senna, if Senna is willing to risk his life for a win or the title, he (Prost) would be fine with it and would just hand it over to him...

I don´t wanna know, how the crash would have ended a few years ago, as Audi was´nt racing the coupe yes :-s

  • Pardonnez-moi, I meant 0:18

  • Look at the guy at 0:29 protecting his scooter... *Facepalm*

  • bad day for Al

  • why couldn't it of been one of the pugs

  • evelyn-nallen@nallen.com

  • look at the fuel pooring out of the bottom of the car at around 2:55 when there pulling allen out of the car...if there was any kind of spark...boom, he got SOOO lucky

  • @iragekao it's just sand isn't it? anyway aren't those audis diesels?

  • @iragekao

Yeah, diesel is gona ignite by a spark......not

  • he is a stupid idiot, and he fucked up the whole race for the other 2 drivers, that crash is a big mistake from McNish !!

  • @edgeforyou Allan McNish is one of the best drivers in the world. He said he didn't know the Ferrari was in front of Bernard when he made the move. He just saw Timo slow down and thought he had a problem so he went for the pass. The Ferrari clearly didn't see McNish behind Timo and saw Timo in his mirrors not passing him. Many factors went in to this accident. It's hard to blame McNish when he was only trying to pass the car he saw in front of him. Just be thankful everyone is alright.

  • in all fairness a racing driver will go for a gap, had it come off then we would all be saying what a brilliant move, as it is!! well a brilliant move that didnt pay off

  • @HedgehogChopper It's not a brilliant move an hour into a 24 hour race... it's a stupid, un-needed move. He could have waited till the next short straight and passed that Ferrari easily.

I doubt any race caller would say brilliant had he pulled it off, they would have said, careless and very, very lucky... he was nowhere near the racing line and would have missed the apex and therefore come out wide and been passed by another car on exit had he "pulled it off"

  • Thank God thank nobody was killed. We were there, but a few bends away from this incident. Le Mans 24 hours is the greatest race on earth bar none. I really hope they don't sanitize Le Mans like they have done to everything else in racing. This also says something amazing about the engineering. It seems unimaginable that a man can step out of that and walk away. These drivers are amazing men and so much in the spirit of 'proper' old style racing.

  • Who ever was driving the ferarri didn't realize there were TWO audis behind him. He saw Bernhardt behind him and kept his line. He didnt have a clue that McNish was trying to pass him. I would have waited till Tet Rouge or the mulsanne to make that pass that early in the race, but then again I'm not a professional race car driver.

  • Why were there cameramen allowed behind that tyre barrier? They could all be dead now. Very very dangerous, McNish only needed another metre or so to clear the barrier and collect them.

If they need a better shot get a longer lens. That why the spectators are behind fences.

  • @vinnyvasquez I'm sure this was not necessarily an angle that they anticipated a car would hit at that speed. I'm 100% confident that it will unfortunately be corrected for next year. I say unfortunately because the now inevitable fences will detract from the canera people getting the freedom they want. I've shot semi-professionally at races, and I would have stood there Saturday and I would stand there today. I wouldn't be surprised if one of those guys/gals got a once in a lifetime shot.

  • lol at the wheel chasing the cameraman

  • @RonTomCR Not LOL. He's lucky that it didn't land on him... a flying wheel is absolutely the most dangerous thing (other than the car itself) to a spectator during a crash like this.

  • vorsprung durch technik

  • @R19091 Truth in Engineering.

  • Insane. Thank god no one was hurt. Ferrari didnt see him on the inside pass but in all honesty it was Mcnish fault

  • What a fucking horrible decision from the driver. There was no room on the inside corner at all.

  • That's simply terrific.

I was a few meters from here during the scene, now i'm happy to been not too cloth from de wall when it happened.

No injuries, but that ws fuckin' horrible.

  • I think God has give little bit help there...

  • Fantastic to see Allan walk away. Almost makes you want to buy an Audi.

  • These drivers, marshalls & photographers bring us so much excitment & we've got a tendancy to forget the dangers involved. That was one huge wake up call.

  • That was...horrible, to be simple about it. Really not nice

  • It was just blind luck that the car didn't hit the track workers and photographers. Scary.

  • wow the crowd could have been killed they are all very lucky to be alive.

  • thank god Mcnish is alright was looking forward to a repeat from last year for Audi.what a car! the engineers are the best !
