  • when i plaed this mission the geniral ran after the retriting ig

  • Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, changed my life.

Over exposure to the quality voices of such figures as Gabriel, Isidor, and Sindri has literally rubbed off upon my once meek speech.

People are truly more receptive to me. From my parents. To the men over who hear me in a game that involves a mike. Not to mention random ladies.

Thank you Paul Dobson. Thank you Scott McNeil. Thank you Relic.

  • I think that Winter Assault just as ,if not better, than Dawn of War 1. Had an excellent plot that was only slightly cliche to 40k, great voice acting, Some very enjoyable missions that made you want to do the campaigh all voer again and best of all they introduce the Necrons late on

  • dow2 was beter but dow1 got Gabriel angelos as commander....non speaking commander was rly bad joke:/

  • @Mishai87 Well, that's totally subjective, in my opinion. I simply didn't like DOW IIs game mechanics, even though it got better in Retribution.

  • @Echnadin i talk about game sound quotes....in DOW commander had exelent quotes iand in DoWII only in multyplayer and not so great quotes:)

  • @Mishai87 DoW II's Skirmish and general versus Multiplayer sucked real bad, but Campaign and Last Stand were awesome, Dawn of War and Dawn of War II's campaign's are the very best.

  • you sure know to match music with videos

  • im more of a chaos guy so DEATH TO THE EMPIRIALS !!!!!!

  • At 'em, ladz! Choppem ta pieces!

  • As Joker said: I'm an agent of Chaos, but there are two people I can respect in the Imperium. The Emperor himself who sacrificed his whole life two keep Chaos at bay, and Gabriel Angelos, (as far as i know) the only Imperium soldier who is not narrow minded and blind fanatic like the other space marines or imperial guard.

  • Brom, you have FHELED, tHE EMPRAH!

  • Dude gabriel angelos is so awsome in soulstorm he trained indrick boreale he saves everyone in dawn of war 2 campaign and owns the tyranids and everyone else

  • @DatsVatSheSaid he didnt save everyone in DoW 2 campaign.Your forces saved everyone the tyranids would have been dead anyway cause the toxins were already delivered. All the hard work and saving was from YOUR SPACE MARINES.Gabriel saved your space marines from a honorable and heroic death however but that doesnt mean he saved everyone. He is still a badass character however.Besides he did a few mistakes like Maledictum, that costed some lives in DoW 2 Retribution and as always u killed the demon

  • stupid imperial officer.... shoot the guards but turnt also into chaos nub....

  • @Typhus2009 He only turns to Chaos in the book. In the games, it's more likely he remained loyal, and was simply evacuated with the rest of the Imperium's citizens.

  • FOR THE BLOOD RAVENS!

    MEET YOUR END GABRIEL!

    *squish!*

  • If it were the salamanders or space wolves instead of the blood ravens, all of those surviving guardsmen would have gotten high fives from the space marines.

  • i don't get it. In DOW space marines and imperial guards are fighting in one side, in dark crusade and winter assault their hostile to each other. In DOW2 They seemed to be united... WHAT THE FUUUUUUU

  • @ixonixas The universe of the game shows they're all humans, they're loyalist of the Emperor from different factions, some games like DOW2 and this game shows some factions can work togather to get their objectives done. But durring the Dark Crusade Imperial 1st Kronus Regiment of Imperial Guard had orders to stay and retake the planet, and might have worked with the blood raven, but David Thule had orders to remove all non-Space Marines (Which is purging)No outsider was to know their secrets

  • @ixonixas in DOW they were fighting side by side, same with Winter Assault, in Dark Crusade, I'll never truly understand why they never fought side by side, same with SoulStorm.

  • Gabriel Angelos - The Awesomness!

  • welll 100 space marines vs 50 orks isent fair! the ork's power is there number!!!! and space marine are...... grunt..... whaaaaaaagggghhhhhh!!!!

  • Imperial officer:"You will fight or you will die."

Yeah and why are you watching your mens' asses getting kicked lol

  • I remember when I replayed this a few months ago colonel brom actually got engaged in melee by a slugga when he was supposed to shoot the guardsmen, so they actually got away and he said "cowards" to himself, seemingly for no reason. The dangers of letting a cutscene play itself out...

  • @Miidgi Lol it's kinda funny they do it that way, for me the guardsmen somehow killed all but 3 orks when the space marines arrived and the whole troop was pretty much still alive

  • This and winter assault have the best campaigns from all the dow's. Soulstorms and dark crusades sucked

  • @SuperJohnthebomb Actually Soul Storm sucked, Dark Crusade was okay...

  • Gabriel best Blood Raven i say o.O

  • Hmmm. How many HPs does a Guardsman have here? The Colonel's bolt pistol killed one per shot. And he didn't shoot the Orks at first- he just watched. Hmmm.

  • OMG GINGERS EVERYWHERE!

  • guardsmen:Sir Sir!

    we are surrounded!

    Commisar: exellent

we can attack in every direction now

  • @tommienater LOL, that's brilliant. xD

  • I never liked the space marines. They always get all the recognition. When the imperial guard do all the work.

  • @Rorschach1030 But you gotta admin, Even with the Guardsmen *Who are indeed the back bone of the imperium* Do the dirty work.. Space marines are the deciding factor in most cases. I think they compliment each other really well. I doubt them guardsmen would last against the Tyranids and Chaos eh?

  • @Rorschach1030

    Guardsmen motivational poster:

Your task may be thankless. But if you're willing to give your all you just might hold out long enough for the space marines to come and take all the credit.

  • i dont know why did they have to change the imperial guardsmen models in winter assault, (Winter assault Guardsmen is cool too)

  • Your task may be thankless, but if you're willing to give it your all. You just might hold long enough for the space marines to come and take all the credit.

  • If you fight for the Imperium you will die, if you don't fight for the Imperium you will still die. It's a lose-lose situation.

  • Hallelujah, it's raising men!

  • Soldier: "Sir! They're killing us!"

    Commissar: "So kill them back!'

Describes this situation in a nutshell I'd say- Right up until..

*Bang! Zoom! Space Marines falling from the sky and begin kicking green ass!

  • Brom just stands there shooting his own men as they retreat and shouting obscenities and he gets all the credit.

  • Yes My Lord!

  • and on that day those orks discovered what it is to fear a foe....but they witnessed fear incarnate....the Emperor's wrath incarnate!!!!

  • "You will fight or you will die...So fight AND die!"

  • Angelos is awesome.

  • i experianced a glitch with the ig won the melee lol

  • awesome, post it :D

  • i only experianced it once :'( and it neer happend agien

  • This game is almost 6 years old and it is still totally awesome.

  • I agree with you i still love this game and his parts:Winter Assault,Dark Crusade,SoulStorm,Dawn of War 2

  • @RipperKun Becouse "super duper ultra new" graphics can not do the game THAT Epic.

  • Carus Brom and his imperial guard is very cool. ´=)

  • i love the music. makes it epic.

  • "Beep Beeeep! W00t Spehss maereens too da rezcue!"

  • Dem Beakiez dun know wut deyz gettin' intah! Dey ain't seen no wun az big az Gorgutz! 'Ez gunna smash 'em good!

  • 0:46 g2g LOL

  • There is a really good book on this game. Its called the Dawn of War Omnibus, it goes through each event with much more detail and understanding,

  • it was ok, but Goto really isnt that great in my opinion. William King and Nathan Long are much better for Warhammer novels

  • I agree, but i am taking into consideration those who prefer more action packed books and who want to get a quick idea of the events on Tartarus.

    I too prefer Nathan Long.

  • blackhearts was incredible ^^

  • Or Dan Abnett

  • Dan Abnett rules!!!!

  • so i got this type of display driver NVIDIA GeForce FX 5299(Microsoft Corporation-WDDM) can anyone help me out at all like a free updating site or soemthin!

  • fuck orks and there hord armies

  • Brom...For fucks sake man get up of your knees and stop kissing that spak marines arse. He should of been like "N0 fare n00b you are teh c0min late0rz and stea1 al1 mah ki11z!!11! FuKIN Wa1l hax0rz!".Yes I have lost all respect for the space marines before you ask.

  • Join imperial guard! We got BANEBLADES! still in production too!

  • INDOUBTABLY!

  • No it's just that they're meerly human whereas pretty much every thing they have to fight is a super human killing machine.

  • @Dodershift I vaguely recall one of the IG's battle cries being "They will drown in our blood and choke on our bones!"

  • @SunStealer1

That has got to be one the most discouraging battle cries. But I'll bet that tells it as it is.

  • @Dodershift Space Marines are barely human at all. They are cybernetic super-soldiers with weaponry so massive and powerful we can't even compare to them. If you were referring to the Imperial Guard, then ... yeah. Mere humans.

  • @darkness007666

theres only so much a normal guy with a knife can do to super-strong aliens meant for nothing but war and battle.

  • Tiny men.

  • hey, just a question, who would win in a fight, A single space marine, or 1 or 2 imperial guard karskins?

  • 1 or 2 karskins, just because their lasgun (i don't know the real name ine english but in french it is : fusil radiant laser) are very good for broke armor.

  • In the old codex they were called "Hell Guns" but im not sure about the new version I think thery're called "Hot- shot lasers" or "Hot-shot lasguns" or something similar

  • TableTop, Fluff, or DoW rules?

  • TableTop rules, the Hell Guns have AP3, and the spaces marines have a save at 3+.

Bye bye fuc**** chaos marines ;)

  • but are only str 3 which means either roll lucky with few or roll a metric fuckton.

  • Fluffwise space marine wins hand down. It's not just the space marine has super armor that is much better then represented in games.

It's that even if he fought the 2 karskin naked an sm is godly compared to a human. Faster, stronger, more experienced, better fighter and if all else fails, the sm will spit acid at the karskin. Oh and a sm boltgun is insane in the fluff, it even has its own machine spirit! 2 karskin vs 1 sm isnt a fair fight, 10 on 1 is better odds.

  • not to mention the space marine has 2 hearts, 4 lungs, increased bone density, glands that block out pain and speed up healing...yea ^.^

    Space Marines = winfinity

  • "You will fight or you will die!"

Me: "....You know what, fuck you."

    Then death. :)

  • It's funny that the soldiers never think to shoot the fuckin' commissar before tactically retreating.

  • Retreat to where?.

  • SINDRI!!!

  • wow, so few of you have read much much into this game. If you find this insulting i'm sorry and i dont mean it to be. I don't blame you for not reading up on it, I however do mind when you go around pretending like you know.

  • You saw it 1 movie and already thing, that IG are such weak? I see most of here doesnt readed lore at all...

  • What 'ya know...here come the Space Marines to save the Imperial Guard...again...

  • It's rule of cool. It's the one reason why WH40k is such a big franchise.

  • Heroic. They actually CARE about the civllians. An impressive feat for an Imperial Soldier

  • these must be a different group of imperial guard troop

  • Yes a very strange and exotic one. From a parallel universe. Clearly they could not exist otherwise.

  • space mariens ATTACK! FOR THE EMPORE!!

typicaly he stand in the middle of them then the space mariens in to gun them down and when they got to close then they cut them down!

  • THIS HAPPENED JUST LIKE IN THE BOOK!

  • O RLY!? And is the book based on this game i wonder?

  • i dont know, ill check n see

  • *sigh* friggin' prolz

  • So are these guys like Soviet Russia in the old days or something?

  • ...no.

  • Well they shot the guys that ran away and that is exactly like Russia, sorry if I'm wrong I've never played DoW before

  • only soviet commissars did.the imperium employed commissars cause when normal guys fight deamons and aliens, guy gets scared and runs away.commissars "inspire" the rest who havent run away yet

  • The Imperial Guard is like a cross between the Soviet's and WW1's British Army. The phrase "If in doubt, Throw more men at them." seems to sum the IG up XD

  • AKA "Modern Warfare"

AND get your facts right: first used by Ulysses S Grant in the Civil War

  • Since when have i cared what Americans do? The fact that Games Workshop is British and that most of the IG have some British themes to them (Shape of Leman Russ's etc) would put them closer to Britain. But sure, If America did it first then fine.

  • Omg, i need this game!!

  • that dude came in and cleaned up that mess

  • would have helped if he came in earlier, btw do you know what are the barrage rules in 40k?

  • no im kinda new at this

  • Well... Gabriel better come back! Since the other Captains are not as good!

  • Gabriel: Awesome (for a Space Marine).

That Ultramarine Chaplain: Not that important.

    Thule: Not bad.

    Boreale: Erm, yeah...SPESS MAHREENS!!!

  • yes boreale does have a weird accent

  • the game would have been better if the ork boyz won and it was 1 episode long and that episode was just a cutscene of the orks winnin

  • On this level I always try and save the guardsmen before they get wasted by Orkz, which is kinda hard when one group of them are sorrounded by 2 groups of Ork Boyz

  • The voice of the guardsman who screams "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES" is awsome

  • I just have a feeling Gabriel will be back in DOW2 to fight that big floaty thing at the end of Dawn of War!

  • Hopefully =)

  • I just hope they don't kill him.

  • No one that falls in the Emperor's service do so in vain! ;C

  • Yes, but he's too popular to kill off.

  • Well Gabriel does have a role in Dawn Of War 2 :) (Sorry if you already knew since it's been a while since you wrote this comment)

As for that Daemon well who knows? It might appear in Dawn Of War 2s expansion Chaos Rising; Gabriel may appear in that too :)

  • @Damocles178

I already know Gabriel and Eliphas (coming back after he went splat, of course) will be in it, so who knows? :)

  • so do you add the music or did someone else did? If you did then you chose some really great music for these cutscenes!!!

  • Yeah, I added the music. Thought it would spice up the cutscenes.

  • I wish they did that in the proper game cos they are boring without some sort of noise in the background

  • Wow, Gabriel is much cooler then any other Force Commander by far! Boreale and Thule were just...well, boring...

  • i liked Thule over Boreale.

i can not and will not take a Scottish Force Commander Seriously

    BRING GAVRIEL BACK!!!

  • Thule was a pimp.

  • ok,noob question: a space marine drop pod, does it actually hold the men inside it,or rather a teleporter beacon used by the ship above to port them after the pod lands? If so,how did that drop site massacre happen? thought they were shot out of the sky by anti-aircraft guns before the pods could land.

  • read the books thats all I'm going to tell you

  • I'm not an arsehole, I'll tell you.

Each drop pod carries space marines. Drop site massacres tend to happen whilst the pods are in the air (vulnerable to AA guns, like you said) or once they've landed (the space marines are left vulnerable and unprotected for a few seconds after they've landed, as it takes about 30 seconds to get out, get their weapons etc, so they're sitting ducks for snipers and whatnot.

  • i fucking loved the first game

  • if im not wrong, i think in the game the marines says, initiating atack protocol 33. thats what I think

  • wait wait wait, protocol 23 is an evacuation order?

but in the game space marines say *initiating attack protocol 23*

    can anybody clarify? =P

  • ROFL. Gabriel just stood there while orks hacked away but he didnt even die

  • He's too badass to die, of course.

  • can you do download versions

  • "fight or die!" hmmm not really much choice there!

  • Whats up with the IG commander? "My lord, forgive me" I'd wish that THQ hadn't made a mockery of the army I collect >:-(

  • They are PDF, which are practically Conscripts. They are like weaker guard. I collect IG too, and I love how Colonel Brom acted actually. It seemed suiting to me that the wimpy PDFs had to be held together by the one brave colonel!

  • Cool intro.

I love how the Blood Ravens came in and kicked the crap out of the Orks.

As for the IG/PDF troops on Tartarus, what they need are some Commissars and Ogryns in their ranks so that they don't get their butts kicked as much.

  • This is probably my favorite clip from the first DOW, besides the one where Sindri is conducting the ceremony with the key and the cultists. In the book, Dawn of War, they do have Ogryns, sentinels, and a few leman Russes. However, they still lose due to the cowardliness of the PDFs. The orks, in the book, have tanks and Storm Boyz as well, which caused the downfall of many PDF tanks.

GO BROM! He's my favorite Guard Officer!

  • I agree with you about Colonol Brom. It seems that the only reason why the Tartarus PDF didn't crumble quickly is because of Brom's leadership.

As far as I'm concerned, Brom's too good for the Tartarus PDF. He should be in the actual I.G fighting in major battles, not babysitting a bunch of wimpy PDF guys.

  • And in the elder ending of SS he is sheer awesomeness.

  • Did the Guardsmen kill any Orks without the help of the Blood Ravens?

  • nice great clip

  • Very nice Cheney. Music fits perfectly. "Stranded we have few ships." "Then you shall have more."

  • whats protocall 23?

  • Secure the perimeter. Basically they check for the possible threats and prevent anyone from entering the area.

  • Oh. Ok thanks

  • To be honest I made that one up. But I'd believe it is something like that.

  • XD XD XD

  • I like this IG commander more then the Winter Assault or Dark Crusade's one.

  • can anyone tell me me where to buy/download Gundam MS IGLOO

  • For every one of us that falls ten more rise to take there place

  • regardless of how thats mathematically impossible :)

  • that's a saying within the Imperial Guardsmen

  • The guy thatkilled the guardsmen is a loser. If you dont fight, you die, then why dosent he go out and fight? otherwise, kill himself.

  • i know!

  • It is a officer's privilege not to fight. You would do well to remember this. .....However....... It is a truly praise worthy officer (Gabriel Angelos) who fights alongside their men. And a legendary officer wins alongside their men.

  • Well, if he were fighting he who would kill the cowards? You know Imperial Guards are strict and weird like that

  • well commors fight ( the guys with red hats) adn also kill cowards

  • sucks for those guardsmen that were executed. if they stayed for a little longer they would still be alive...psh...cowards..

  • Same do Forces of chaos but they sacrifice.

  • If something tears marine apart, mairnes will kill 100 creatures liek that one for revenge

  • Well, Space Marines have a reason to kick butt, they're stupidly enhanced to be stronger and faster, resistant to most diseases, etc.

An Imperial guardsman is just a regular human that stands up to creatures that would tear a Marine in half.

  • This is so typical battle, IG is allmost down and he Emperor finest have to come rescue them

  • I believe the emperors finest are the Ultramarines, i think it says something about that in the codex

  • Hahahah...

    No.

The Emperor's finest are the Grey Knights. They could eat the Ultramarines for breakfast.

Guilliman wasn't even that good a Primarch, all he and his marines did was well was be hideously uncreative, and he certainly wasn't as good as Horus, Alpharius, or Peturabo. All in all the Ultramarines are highly overrated.
