"She Knows It" was cowritten by Scott Rogness (shown here playing acoustic guitar and singing next to Michelle Bachman -- man that's a scary resemblance) and his former '80's bandmate Rick Elias who's playing electric guitar on the far left. They wrote and performed 5 of the 14 songs on the soundtrack, but not the film's title track. "That Thing You Do" was written by Fountains of Wayne bassist and backing vocalist Adam Schlesinger and sung by Mike Viola of Candy Butchers.

Yep, this is Scott Rogness and Rick Elias that wrote most of the tunes for the movie.

However, Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne and Tinted Windows wrote the title song.

Can someone tell me if indeed this is the actual band that recorded the songs? BTW, the lead singer (with the acoustic guitar) does appear in the movie..as a piano player during one of the state fair rehearsals. Yo, TommygunNG..yeah..she's quite a dish, eh?
