Trying to get a solid point, or answer out of this piece, or most of his writings, or art in general will block the absorption of it. I think it's genius. Call me artsy I guess...

They did infact destroy the man. They did do it. But they never got thier hands dirty by actually physically doing it. Thier poison was SOCIAL! The kids we imagine were just kids and only kids would think such wild things. BUT THE KIDS WERE RIGHT, AT HEART. The point. Our children see and they are watching us as well as our world.The purity of youth and thier honest little hearts. Thank you.

Fuck this is so good. The second time i listened to it i shivered and got goosebumps from the narrators calm emotionless voice. its perfect. I do find it funny that the shops name is chinaski after Bukowski's alter ego henry chinaski. The end also has so much meaning to it and makes me think about life for a while.

This is brillaint for two reasons.

One, it is simply a great film and piece of animation.

Secondly, it allows me to hear Bukowski's words afresh. There's no imagery associated with him and it's not his voice.

I'd just been thinking the other day how good it would be to read Bukowski for the first time again. That was pretty fucking close.
