The problem here is that the home plate umpire called it a strike with a hand gesture and then changed his mind. You can't do that. I hope Chris Cooper learned something here. The 2nd base umpire got the call right, Furcal was out, but he can't do anything about the incompetence of the home plate umpire. Once he changed his mind and called the pitch a ball, Furcal is automatically safe.
You can't really blame the 2nd base umpire. It's not his fault that his call got reversed. He thought that a strike was called. I think Jair Jurjens got ejected in this game also.
@159yankees your right. The Dodgers broadcaster, the second base umpire, and everyone could clearly see what it was. His lame excuse story after the game doesn't add up. (The umpires that is)
@redverter fact is it was a strike em out, throw em out double play and you can clearly see it. but oh well, im glad bobby got thrown out he had every right to defend that play

Had there not been a base on balls, there would've been an out at 2nd. Only one umpire screwed this one up--the home plate blue.
@Lanceaferd He didn't need to make his call to safe. you cannot be put out on a ball four call. i am thinking he home plate was more putting out first.
