  • Ephesians 2:8-9 Makes it clear that through faith we are saved not by works. Please turn from a false religion. Be saved through faith and repentance and no more. Christ says salvation is a free gift. (Romans 6:23) It can not be a gift if you have to do anything for it. If you offer me a car but tell me i have to pay 10 dollars. It is not a gift. James 2 makes it clear that you demonstrate your faith with works not earn salvation with works.

  • I love my wife and demonstrate by showing her kind and loving works. I dont earn my relationship with her because i do things for her it is just a demonstration of my love for her. Please turn from this false religion. I plead with you turn so that you don't end up in hell.

  • Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

  • @erniefranco11 no Mormon at any time in any place who knows his Book of Mormon has ever claimed that our works, in and of themselves, earn us a place in heaven. The book of mormon says "no flesh can dwell in the presence of God save it be through the merits, mercy, and grace of the holy messiah..." (2NE2:6) I understand what you are saying, but I do not feel like i'm in danger there. I view my works as what they are: insufficient by themsleves. I rely wholly upon the merits of Jesus Christ.

  • @PCEggo Works with grace is not what brings us salvation as it states in 2 Nephi. Ephesians 2:8-9 is a totally different gospel than what 2 nephi states. Works has no part in salvation it is strictly faith that brings salvation through what Christ did on the cross. What Jesus did on the cross is sufficient for salvation and I can add nothing to it but respond to the call. James 2 defines faith. He says if you have no works then you have a false faith. A true faith follows christ teachings.

  • @erniefranco11 i would suggest you read a book entitled "Will the real heretics please stand up." by David W. Bercot. It is not a Mormon book, David is not mormon. It has nothing to do with mormons.

Bercott tells the story of how he became disillustioned with his study of early christian writers becuase they're beliefs often conflicted with his own, sometimes the writers even labeled them Heretical. Bercott came to see what the early christian beliefs were and wrote this book to his fellows

  • @erniefranco11 Mormons and Bercott both share that view that though our works are insufficient by ourselves, they are required. James 2 teaches that our works are required as evidence of our faith, and our faith places us in the power of Jesus, and Jesus is the agent in the equation doing the saving.

I do not believe that works don't matter whatsoever. i believe our best efforts are required, not that we can become perfect on our own, but because none but the truly penitent will be saved.

  • @PCEggo I have never read or heard of bercott. What i do understand is that ephesians 2:8-9 is clear. We have been saved by grace through faith not of our doing it is the gift of God. Not by works so that no man can boast. It is not a gift if you have to do anything for it. If you tell me i will give you a car as a gift but you have to give me 10 dollars. This no longer becomes a gift because i had to make a payment of 10 dollars. If i have to have works it is no longer a gift from God.

  • @erniefranco11 What do you consider works? We are saved through faith, redemption and the sacrifice of Christs atonement on the cross. If you want works, I was a recent convert and a former 9/11 paramedic who witnessed gods inhumanity to man. I have been on SSDI for illnesses acquired on that fateful day, the church saved my life and my sole remaining kidney, the doctor wrote a note about my need for hydration and the need for a reverse osmosis water system, they paid &1.786 for that system.

  • @Philip02K I do good works to be obedient to God and to honor him. That is what he asks of us. I do not do good works because I think it has a place in my salvation. A duck naturally quacks a christian should naturally want to do good works. What Christ did on the cross is sufficient for my salvation I can add nothing to it. James defined what true faith and false faith is. People thought that faith meant no change in behavior. James made it clear that good works is evident for true faith.

  • @erniefranco1 that's just it though... "He who says I know Him yet keepeth not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him." (1 john 2:4) A Christian who says he's saved, and yet cares nothing for good works and does no good works, it is obvious that he is not saved, and will not be saved unless he repents.

Bercott concluded it like this: Suppose a king asks his son to go pick an apple from the orchard, so he does, and so the king gives the prince half the kingdom. Did the prince

  • "merit" half the kingdom by getting a single apple? no, it was a single apple - its worth a tasty snack, but never half the kingdom! Even so, repentence in addition to faith in Christ is the conditions upon which the Lord has determined he will give his gift. It's no less a gift because it has conditions. our works will never merit salvation, just like an apple doesn't merit half the kingdom, but God will grant us salvation for repentence and good works because he loves us through jesus

  • @erniefranco11 Works alone is not enough to enter gods kingdom. You need faith and works. And why do you do these works.

  • THANK you for comming into CANADA Mormon.com

  • thats s my cousins mission i think
