If a pregnant woman is attacked and loses her child but is not killed herself, the attackers must pay the husband whatever the judges decide. But if the woman dies then the attackers must be killed. That's where "an eye for an eye" comes from. Here's how I read it: if the life of an aborted baby is worth nothing but the life of the mother is, then the fetus is not a person. God's word!

It would be difficult to understand abstract ideas like a State, but we can understand a statue. The words are even similar, therefore when the bible says people worship a statue and call it a god, the parallel we can get from that is the abstract idea that a state is god, or government.
