when dungy got to tb they already had sapp,brooks,and lynch and dungy had 6 yrs so its not like they rushed him out. i completely disagree that bucs wouldve beaten raiders if dungy was still in tb and gruden was still in oakland.bucs offense wouldve still been terrible and bucs' defense wouldnt have known everything there was to know about raiders offense.that was a great raider team that gruden built and u guys had an advantage that was almost unfair.wat if dungy coached the raiders in that sb

Dungy's stubbornness to keep certain assistant coaches who were terrible offensive coordinators (Clyde Christiansen) is what got him fired. Christiansen is still with the Colts but make no mistake Peyton Manning is the REAL offensive coordinator of the Colts.

that's incorrect about more hall of famers...85 bears had 4 which includes defense and offense, as soon as the 02 bucs are are eligible considering some have or haven't retired recently...We will have Sapp, Rice, Brooks, Lynch, Barber, Alstott, and that's four alone on defense while one on offense, not to mention our coach might be considered.

Nothing wrong with blitzing, its just that 2002 bucs did it only with a 4 man pressure while 7 dropped into coverage.

Sapp and Brooks are easy first-ballot guys. Lynch and Barber are borderline; safeties have a tough time getting in and Barber was never really a great cover corner (which is how voters grade corners). Rice and Alstott have no shot. Rice was one-dimensional and his prime was short. Alstott, as much as I love him, simply isn't Hall of Fame material. He wasn't a great blocker, nor was he a great tailback. He sure was fun to watch run over people, though.

I disagree. Alstott is borderline, I believe. I would never say he's a surefire, but he was one tough SOB, and he was the most feared fullback in the league. Barber, I agree...Rice, I agree. Lynch, I think he will be a surefire just because how well he played in Denver. The Bucs cut him and he went on to four or five straight pro bowls for them.

It's risky, look at the roll out QBs like Roethlisburger who like to burn the blitz, or the 'smarts' qbs who play better on blitzes like the Mannings, the Patriots lost the superbowl on an all out blitz, it left Burris wide open.

Wrong...Dungy is a great coach, but the bucs needed a new direction. they were going downhill. 11-5 in 99, 10-6 in 00, 9-7 in 01, Not to mention the 2 horrible playoff games at philly in those last 2 years.
