I know it's annoying when people talk about their age on youtube, but I'd just like to say that as a 14 year old, I wish everyone my age could realise that Frank Turner is the best thing to happen to modern music. The passion, the soul, yet the simplicity in his music. It's phenominal. He's got a feel of Billy Bragg about him, and I can't wait to see them in April. I know few people my age who can appreciate this man's genius, and I'm eternally grateful to the friend suggested I listen to him.
"I would go so far as to call him the voice of a generation, except that our generation has so many worthless wankers that don't deserve to be associated with him." - Absolute quality. So true.
@winnebagodeal yeahh, i hate robbie williams and liam gallager too but you have to admit that frank turner is an absolute legend regardless of where he comes from!!
frank turner is simply a genius. im so glad that america may finally catch on to him. and maybe america will then realize the there are some really great british bands with originality rather than some of the cookie cutter stuff that is produce over there
@LGFUAD21 Being an American, I completely agree. But do you know how awesome it is to see him in tiny, intimate venues and house shows here? Fucking amazing. When he gets as big here as he is in Britain, it'll be alot harder for me to get to meet him and be up close and personal with every show. I suppose it's a Catch 22.
@Lokey346 I so agree with you, I prefer how small the crowds are here in North America when Frank Turner comes to play because each fan gets to meet and talk to him. I'm from Canada and I saw him in Montreal at a show with like an estimated 200 people and I got to hang with him for about a half hour-hour after the show. Frank Turner is truly dedicated to his fans!
@LGFUAD21 That's so wrong, American/Canadian bands put Brits to shame. Robbie Williams got laughed all the way to the Hollywood Hills (Doesn't play an instrument or write any songs - may as well work in Butlins) then Oasis (getting attacked in Toronto 'cos they're egos are beyond all measure). American/Canadian bands are superior cos they tour their arses off that mass of a continent vs. UK bands 'We just did a tour, went to Glasgow, Leeds, London and Ipswich'.

I love love love love Frank Turner. I met him in Minneapolis when he toured with The Gaslight Anthem. Most people didn't know who he was before the show, but they definitely weren't able to forget him afterwards.
Sounds like my childhood. I grew up around Scottish Pipe Band music and Irish/Scottish folk singers who sing quite close to this, so it's nice to hear someone getting famous doing what many of us do on drunken nights and when with friends outside somewhere.
