@TheMrAlexrj Yes and no. Yes, because boiled water tastes terrible, but no because this filter could not be trusted to provide potable water if there werte a legitimate boil water advisory. Yes, it does reduce lead, but not ALL heavy metals. For a more serious kind of filtration, you should consider Reverse Osmosis.
@bobbijoc3 Unfortunately it is not a leak proof lid. It should fit snugly, but if the top half of the pitcher is full it will almost certainly leak. Not sure why yours is falling off. That doesn't sound right. I would consider returning it to the place of purchase.
Are these things supposed to drip the water out or should it come in a stream? Mine filters the water with a stream coming out the bottom sometimes but then it drips it other times and takes twice as long. So whats the deal?
@mattsy33333 Dripping is not normal. the filter should deliver water at around 0.5 to 1 gallon per minute. Anything less than that and something is wrong. Could be a defective filter, or it could just be clogged with contaminants.
@aquamanwisdom hmmm. well i think it started dripping when the filter was old. So should I just use the filter until it starts dripping and then change it?
@mattsy33333 Sounds like it became clogged with contaminants. Microscopic sediment will do that. I would simply change the filter when the flow becomes too low for convenient use.
we have tp clean the pitcher when we we first buy one. it says to use a mild detergent when cleaning the pitcher. so i cant use regular soap ? please help i want to set mine up the right way.
You can use any mild soap, like your typical dishwashing soap. I think the idea is to avoid something really strong like pine-sol or bleach. It's just not necessary. A mild cleaning to get the dust out and you are off to the races.
Is it BPA-free?

My lid doesn't fit tightly. When I go to pour the water into a glass it keeps coming off. Should it fit tight or not?
