Why is it that everyone that can beat superman always has that one simple thing that makes them lose XD. Captain Marvel got caught in his own lightning bolt and turned back into a kid, Captain Atom just so happen to knock superman through a steel wall he could use to block his radiation Darkside always makes a stupid mistake haha. I control radiation superman, that includes red sun radiation....but that's not what this is because then you'd instantly be powerless. this is actually just a red light. i figured red sun would be cheating.

Or if not lose his power str8 away at least show the sunlight to be reducing his powers in some way. Terrible writing!! Captain Atom should win against Supes for sure.

@kilomanish LMAO, you are losing your cool dude, Bwahaha. My point was that the portrayal in this battle made it seem like the Red Sunlight had NO EFFECT on Supes, and thus belittled Captain Atom. Everyone knows Supes is a powerhouse, but would it hurt to show him at least struggle in the fight? Also Captain Atom nearly beat Mr Majestic who is equal to if not stronger than Superman. So u can SHOVE IT, punk. Also these are direct blasts of Red Sunlight he would be feeling it for sure.

@kilomanish ive revised my opinion, it's likely Supes would win 6/10 times but i still say the writers of this show sold Cpt Atom short, they pretty much treated his red sun blasts like normal lasers, when they would be almost as debilitating as kryptonite. Also, Cpt Atom could easily have emitted Kryptonite here but that's another story. Go and chill out u Big Blue Fanboy.

@kilomanish Probably for the reason that Kryptonite will not only reduce Superman's powers and weaken him, but will *KILL* him, given enough exposure; red solar radiation on the other hand, will weaken Superman the more he's exposed to it, *but* won't prove lethal in the end-- too much red sun rays, and Superman loses his powers. It's highly probable that during this fight Captain Atom was just looking to put Superman down nonlethally, not kill him; hence red sun blasts and not Kryptonite rays.

@kilomanish Majestic is stronger than Superman. Between Majestic and Silver Age Superman it is arguable who is stronger, but main stream is no where near as powerful as Majestic. One of Superman's stronger feats of strength was pushing the Earth. Majestic has rearranged the entire solar system, even Jupiter after he used his laser vision to solidify it and Jupiter is 300 times larger than Earth and he has out-muscled a black hole, which main stream present day Supes cannot do.

@omdway When Majestic fought Captain Atom, he was holding back also, you've forgotten this, Captain Atom was being powered up by the Void power, therefore his levels were majorly increased.

@omdway ...uhm, no; red sunlight exposure *does* weaken Superman, but NO WAY that he would completely lose his powers with the first blast from Atom, regardless of how focused the beam was; it takes *prolonged* exposure to completely rob Superman of his powers. The blasts are intermittent here. I agree that it should've shown him weakening, there IS the possibility that Superman *was* being weakened, and yet was still so much above Atom physically that even so, it didn't really tell much on him.

@DorianMichaelsIII my problem is with the writin of the show. Heck Supergirl lost her powers within minutes of being exposed to Red sunlight at the Earth's Core. How come Supes pretty much shrugged off direct blasts of red sunlight? They should be consistent. Plus, i may be suffering from underdog-itis, but they made Capt Atom look like a weakling which is not cool in my books. In the comics, Capt Atom could deffo weaken Supes quite quickly and possibly beat him. The cartoons just arent accurate

@MaxxCoyote Yes, but that's assuming that he wanted to actually *kill* Superman here...if he *really* wanted to, he would have used Kryptonite rays on Big Blue; but its heavily implied that he only wanted to put Supes down nonlethally, not kill him-- hence the red sun rays, which would weaken him enough that he'd give up the ghost eventually; Atom's mission here was to prevent Huntress from leaving with the Question, nothing else (including 'kill Superman').
