  • Wow that power, this song has a Demoniac RIFF, created in the same hell that is worshiped Lucifer

  • hmmm... not that much influence, they rather had their own thing going :)

  • Okay, you can't deny that the horns in the beginning sounds like Plant's cry in Immigrant Song..

  • @TakajoMiyazaki : yeah but it came out after Immigrant Song. I've got the LP and it was released in 1973. Never got much airplay!!

  • @jst1674 Lucifer's Friends album Lucifer's Friend, (where is the song ride in the sky) is originaly released 1970. The same year as Led Zeppelin III (where is the immigrant song). Led Zeppelin released their III album 5 October 1970. And I dont know the exact date when the album Lucifer's Friend was released but Led Zeppelin was quite end of the year.. so who knows who was first.. (Of course immigrant song was first heared at Bath festival June 28 1970)

  • Ive had this lp since the early 80s, first heard it in 78 and was BLOWN away. Ive had dreams about this album, and not pleasant ones. One night I woke up to a burning door/gate to hell at the foot of my bed and the short bald headed dude was at the entrance!

  • Three people were scared shitless while looking up Justin Bieber's new song "Ride that Guy"...

  • Led Zeppelin is the biggest rip-off in the world. They've stolen so much shit from other bands they have opened for.

  • @bigwesj Since a large majority of groups at the time, and these "loans" are for the vast majority that the words and the structure of a few riffs, I do not want to blame Deep Purple, but plagiarism is home much more radical, to copy songs completely scraps or even entire songs. Regarding this song, there was no plagiarism on the part of the group, end of discussion.

  • This album came after Black Sabbath but BEFORE Paranoid.

    Keep that in mind.

  • I am pretty sure if anything Zep would have heard this first. You guys realize that bands don't release albums right after they record them. So it probably would have been about two months after the recording date. Bands back then took about 1-6 weeks max usually to record an album and would release it atleast a month after. So Zeps album was released November fifth I really doubt Zeps Immigrant song influenced Lucifer's Friend. Maybe their earlier stuff did but not Immgrant song.

  • This is like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin together!

hahahaha love the song HARD ROCK FOREVER!

  • Most likely Zeppelin had already recorded "Immigrant Song" by the time this was released. If anything, both songs were lifted from "Bali Ha'i", an old Rodgers and Hammerstein tune.

  • damm i love this song!!!;D

  • For those looking to create a controversy over Led Zeppelin I say that Lucifer album was released in November 70 and the Led Zep III on him in October...

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM Wrong Zep 3 was released on November fifth. And I really doubt Immigrant Song influenced this. Musically this is a much more complicated song. Don't get me wrong Immigrant Song is a great song. But this is more technically challenging.

  • @hermygagala No, no, I assure you, Led Zeppelin III was released in October 1970 ....

I do not want to contradict you, I do not like Immigrant Song, it is not even in my top 30 Zeppelin.

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM I guess you are right. I just Wikipediaed it the first time, now I checked my actual album and it was October 5th.However I am not a huge fan of Zep,I respect that they influenced a ton of bands including my favorite band of all time "Nazareth".I just feel that even though Zep was hugely influential they still recieve more credit than what is accounted for.I mean they are really good, but to me highly blown out of proportion, there are plenty of other bands just as good to my mind.

  • @hermygagala It is obvious that the managerial policy (no single, few TV appearances, an obligation to go to the concert to see them, show 3 hours, effects on stage, violin bow) of the group helped the rise in popularity the group, but it would not work with any group, of course .. I agree with you to say that in this decade or this period (65-75), there are many interesting groups, such as Lucifers friend, after judging the superiority of one group of such a group, it depends only tastes ..

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM You were saying that the rise in popularity of Led Zeppelin or Lucifer's Friend was caused by the things you listed? I just want to clarify?

  • @hermygagala I spoke only of Led Zeppelin, it is not only to this, but if Led Zeppelin has successfully established itself as rapidly in the U.S. market, thanks in part also an outstanding managerial policy. ..

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM So you're saying that a lot of Zep's sucess has to do with their producer's and Managerial policy?

  • @hermygagala No, I misspoke, the managerial policy of the group and the spirit and the musical contributions of the group form a whole, for the first aspect mentioned, it can free itself so that the wish of the group is achieved, namely the scene to have fun and grow in popularity and of course in profits.

  • Comment removed

  • @hermygagala to meet the characteristics of the first aspect, the second allows for him, to impress and retain the viewer at the time, a singer from blues, macho and sensuous at once, one with a spectacular game guitarise (bowing) and riffs combined with songs more focused "" "" pop "" "(it concerns only the first two albums) Let's add to that the some of the best pairs of rhythmic rock history (Bonham-Jones), and one obtains breathtaking show. More often the songs from the radio.

  • Comment removed

  • @hermygagala And we obtain the expansion of the group in 1969-1970. Despite these criticisms, I worships this group, despite a massive hypocrisy on the part of Page-Plant (Relative to their motivations were in the first place money), musically speaking at the album, Houses of the Holy is in my top 10 and this is my favorite live band, they peaked that no one has reached ...

  • sounds like Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin, search it

  • @skateNappreciate sounds nothing like immigrant song, but i hear alot of black sabbath/led zeppelin influences !

  • heeeyyy world look out im cominnn

  • Fuck why aren't these guys given a lot of credit for creating metal them alon with Nazareth, and Atomic Rooster, and Uriah Heep, Nazareth songs: "Witchdoctor Woman (71)", "Hard Living (72)", " "Sold My Soul (73)", "Miss Misery (74)", "Shapes Of Things (74)". Fuck this is an awesome band as well as the rest of the ones I listed!!!

  • Oh man, great song! Why?... WHY were these guys removed from the Metal Archives?!

  • @TruemetalandpunkONLY because the new generation of metal heads are a bunch of brats.

  • @mikexlong Amen to that brother!

  • that pic is pretty trippy

  • My friend just showed me these dudes and their awsome !

  • Play it loud!!!!

  • Stop whining.

  • so underrated

  • too fuckin cool

  • its ride in the sky.....just sayin

  • i love the opening guitar riff, although it sounds very like a 70s cult tv theme!

  • @waylo4526 Shut up man.

  • @Deathsiren Weh weh, stop whining.

  • @waylo4526 stfu

  • when i skate to this song i feel as if im in the Ride the Sky Video!!

  • @karr017 fallen<3 ahaaa kick ass

  • @karr017 You'd better listen to this masterpiece when you're on chopper ;-)

  • @karr017 Another skaterboy x_x ... Why skate to this song when you can smoke some very good weed and feel like you're really riding the sky?!

  • @doom696mented another pot head v___v

  • @karr017 Smoking weed is healthy. Skating may be dangerous... you can break your neck

  • Ripped the horn shit from the film The Vikings. He hawwwww

  • @Gyphia Obviously true, but this song still came out before Immigrant Song.

  • I gotta admit that album cover up there used to SCARE THE HELL out of me back in the 70's....I always had to keep that album towards the back of my record collection....there is a lot going on with that album cover, for example, they have just finished a sacrifice to the devil....and are standing in a pool of blood, so they are both thinking, "Photo op!!!"

  • @JEDIALADDIN I agree, but who are the people on the cover?

  • @weslake898 Lurch and Uncle Fester.

  • I like the 3 second organ solo at 1:44 ...the organ player stepped on a live wire!!!

  • @Gyphia

Immigrant Song was in Led Zeppelin III released in the same year as this album... So I hardly doubt also with you.

  • The COVER pic is the original Blues Bros. of Devil Rock

  • muse and zeppelin both ripped this song off, muse knights of cyndonia the chours

  • Judas Priest ripped this riff off on their song Deciever

  • @GotMeUnderPressure i was just about to write a comment bout that until i read urs, good ear

  • I played the trombone on that track! It was me!!!

  • @JEDIALADDIN I'm the one that looks like Uncle Fester

  • @JEDIALADDIN You were about 10 then? XD

  • Ride the sky mother fuckers

  • yo tengo ese disco es muy bueno

  • Goddamn, I WANT this on cd!!!!!!!!!! Anyone know of a distro, which would have this???!!!

  • Led Zeppelin came out 1-2 months after Lucifer's Friend.

I hardly doubt that Led Zeppelin would care about buying or listening to this album during the state they were in by then.

  • Awesome song from the early days of heavy metal!

  • did they record another version of this? i have one with the same intro, but the instruments are way more crisp....not that 70's cardboard box drum sound, and there's a solo section that features a moog and guitar trading 4's, then 2's....

  • LOL at the skaters, it takes a skating video to discover real music..really sad.

  • @disturbedspike You fail. Disturbed makes your vagina grow.

  • How is it sad?!? Doesn't matter where you hear it! The Fallen video doesn't make the song good, the song being good does! Dildo.......

  • @disturbedspike How is it sad?!? Doesn't matter where you hear it! The Fallen video doesn't make the song good, the song being good does! Dildo....... 1 second ago

  • No, the song is great. what im saying is that its sad that could only find good music through some skating video, game, etc.

  • tonight i'll be riding the sky

  • @zombie161

    666

  • fuckin great!!!!!!!!!

  • FALLEN RIDE SKY !

    SKATE OR DIEE !

  • Great - I saw them live in the seventies,but I cant`remember!

  • @16babacool

    haha greeat man!

  • That was awesome, although I do prefer the Avantasia cover...

  • @lucridis

I heard that cover, and wasn't too keen on it, compared to the original. I feel that this version is more aggressive and raw.

  • @stomp919. I would love to have this, I cant help it I heard it for the first time in a skateboarding movie.

  • Creach buy it on LP and CD. The LP is cool just because you can see a bigger picture of Lurch and Uncle Fester and if you buy the album under the Billingsgate label that was released in the USA the label has a guy kicking a fat figure in the ass. ASSKICKING! I wasnt trying to be unrespectful to the skaters actually im thrilled that someone put Ride the Sky on the video.

  • well the video was called ride the sky

  • Kent i looked for the vid months ago and couldnt find it then i found clips here on youtube. This song makes the vid totally bad ass. That last clip of the dude launching off a 20 foot wall onto the street below is blastola!

  • i own it

  • What's with that Immigrant song-eqsue riff with the horn? =[

  • hard to say really. and it's exactly the same riff!

and both this album and Zeppelin III were released in 1970. mystic!

  • @dirtydeeds2447 -- this album came out a few years BEFORE Zeppelin's Immigrant song.

  • Actually both albums were released in the same year during the same month... So!

  • Fallen - Ride The Sky

  • I wonder if any of you skateboarders would like this LP if it wasnt featured on a skating video. This album is evil as fuck under certain "circumstances"

  • @stomp919 i agree

  • não me caso de ouvir isso.....amazing..

  • stonrd

  • im so stoned

  • @pervertedmind me too

  • @pervertedmind you're an idiot

  • @pervertedmind Me too man...

  • i like it

    it seems like Led Zeppelin

  • I gotta buy this album can't find it anywhere on the internet, and this shit kicks ass for skating

  • skateboarding ftw!!!

    awesome song :D

  • Proud to say i have this on vinyl. Its cool to know that John Lawton, singer of the band, went to on to sing with Uriah Heep!!

  • fuck i can't find this song on limewire :D!

  • I love this song!!! I know that he NEVER does cover songs, but I could imagine Dio singing this. Ken, you rock buddy!!! Thank you for sending this!!!

  • 1:31 chris cole falls* lol. i like that part of the intro.

  • best song to put in the begging off a skate video!!!

  • Grandissimo album, una via di mezzo, azzeccatissima direi, fra In Rock e Very Eavy...Very Umble !

  • can anyone please send me this kick ass song?

  • the thought of this great song being a part of any "skate video" is just so wrong on so many levels.

  • your sexual fantasys are wrong on so many levels

  • L. friend is awesome, skating is gay, bad mix

  • i bet you`ve never know how to skate or even how to do sports, thats why you say skate is for gay, your life sucks.

  • skating isnt a sport, its an activity, like knitting.

  • fuck you! have you ever try skating? real boys do skate! so just shut up and eat your moms pussy!

  • Ur a fuckin pussy. I bet every fuckin skater in this world could beat ur pussy ass. wat do u do? sit at home, jerk it and watch reruns of fresh prince? oh wait, i bet your in the glee club at school and ur a virgin on the chess team. my bad.

  • Dude i find this particular song very peaceful..

but maybe im just weird (:

  • strange someone pointed out how priest stole this riff, an i checked it out, it is very similiar to deciever.

  • The first time I heard this was walking into my local record store, as they were beginning side 1, track 1. My buddy and I thought it was the new Zep album. We asked the guy behind the counter who it was. He said Lucifer's Friend. I wanted to buy a copy right there, but he said it was an import, and not for sale, but it was going to be released in the US in a few weeks, which took about 3 months. Once it came out, we played it constantly. Made a copy for my car 8 Track. Still sounds great!

  • @mtzimm

When I first heard this band that's what I thought. Great band nonetheless.

  • @mtzimm You must have been pretty deaf as it doesn't sound like them at all..

  • such a great song and band....

  • WOW ! I am PLEASED! GREAT VINTAGE VIDEO! BRAVO !

  • That song is in the fallen same name video...

  • fallen (Ride The Sky)

  • this song is perfect. goosebump material right here haha

  • YES

  • lethal song.

that gay band called muse robbed this riff and used it in their gay song knicgts of cydonia!

  • knights*

  • Where in that song do Muse rip off of this song? btw, Muse is awesome. Calling them gay makes you sound like a 13 year old.

  • well not being able to speak english makes you sound liek a 5 year old!

its muse are not msue is. and yes they are gay and unoriginal dom howard bums matt bellamy!!

  • lucifers freind kills muse.

  • No, they demolish Muse XD

  • @SabbathMan8815 No they suck, they really do. Why?

    1. Cliche riffs, Cliche melodies, Cliche style

    2. Every song sounds the bloody same

  • @SabbathMan8815 To Bad Bitch! Deal with it, Muse is really gay.

  • clashboy1977, you're an insufferable idiot. "Knights of Cydonia" was influenced by The Tornados' "Telstar" which came out in 1962. and i doubt Muse had ever heard about the Lucifer's Friend. prick.

both bands are great unlike your annoying ignorance.

  • typical stuck up msue fan trying to take the high ground by seeming "intelligent"!

i dont give a fuck wat they said it was influenced by the fucking riff is stole from this! fag!

  • Thanks for uploading!!

    Great song and band!

  • SO GOOD!!!!!!!!

  • OMG SO F GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks.

  • man , this song is fuckin' awesome

  • Comment removed

  • chris coles was best

  • Awesome genius proto metal....

  • Actually, this song was written before "Immigrant Song", so Zeppelin ripped off them.

  • Are you a fan of Oswald Osbourne?

  • Comment removed

  • Noo

  • @SabbathMan8815 Thanks for clearing that out for the bunch of VH1 fans out there who think they are rockers.

  • @SabbathMan8815 oh snap! thanks for the ammo for anyone who says otherwise!

  • The singer sounds ALOT like Ronnie James Dio. Kind of sounds like Rainbow!

  • Yeah he does.. Just noticed that. haha.

  • same
