  • It would be difficult for me to skin an animal. I think I'd be too squeamish. But maybe it would be different if I was starving in the woods.

  • Great video man thanks! My bro killed a bunny a couple months back and neither of us knew how to gut it, we tried and failed. Now i know! I look forward to trying it out.

  • Hey your video is great, best one I've found on skinning a rabbit. But I have a question for you. Do you know how to break tier necks for killing them? I'm a falconer's apprentice and he wants me to break their necks once I birds caught a rabbit, but I've never broke an animals neck is all.

  • @HatchetFirelette very cool, i have always found the falconing process very interesting. I would say the fastest way to break a small animals neck would be to pull the head and body apart, separating the vertebrae. A fast blow to the back of the neck will also work

  • @HatchetFirelette one of the eiasiest ways to break a small animals neck is to tke the rabbit and snap its head back and forth in a quick motion

  • Love rabbit, but hate skinning. That damned fur in my nose, eyes, etc.

  • How do you preserve the rabbit hide after you skin it my friend told me to put some kind of salt or something i didnt know?

  • at 3:29 the rabbit looks like its wearing boots :)

  • know wat i love is just to be outside and sit in the quiet forest and hunt im a big outdoors man love ur vids dont stop maken them

  • can ya do it w/leaving face fur and ears on pelt?

  • Nicely done. . . . THANK YOU!

  • That rabbit looked pretty tasty, now i'm hungry. :)

  • In regards to rabbit/wild hare; this is the best field dressing education video,

for the purpose of saving the fur or hide, I have seen on youtube. Thanks for sharing.

  • I got a rabbit....with the truck

  • Quick question friend i saw you cutting the back foot of the rabbit to peel it off but i didn't saw you do that on the front feet and neck of the rabbit, do those come right off like that? or did you cut them i hope i make sense to what i am saying :)

  • @r1cky8807 the skin is thin enough to just tear off at the wrists

  • When my dad used to do a lot of trapping, he had a couple of sharpened S-hooks on the ends of two short pieces of chain and had the chains attached to the rafters (it was in a shed with the rafters being about 6.5 ft above the floor. Each of the sharpened S-hooks would go through one of the animal's hind feet so then, having both hands free, he could easily skin the animal in a very short amount of time.

  • what do you make out of the hides

  • Awesome video knowing this should be a high school requirement hahaha to many dumb ass teen agers get lost and dieing in the woods-_-

  • DAMN thats raunchy

  • love the sound of the train in the background :)

  • Great vid man, I'm startin to trap so I can sell hides so I figured I better see the best way to skin em for that purpose.

  • dick head first of all your knifes not sharp and secon you would of died from hunger by the time you skined it

  • I'd love to see your method of tanning/preserving the hide :D Thanks.

  • Hello, i like your skinning but

  • Hello, i like your skinning but one question:)

  • That is the same way I do it because i stretch my hides

  • @pk066392 ya dude

  • the internal organs are edible if ur willing to eat them :)

  • @TheGanstaben its cool that some indian tribes would eat moose liver raw and said it tasted like molasses

  • @pk066392 IKR at least u skinned the rabbit

  • Saw this same vid on willdernessoutfitters

  • @natureman97 yep, i post some vids on daves channel when he is away, but it was already on here

  • Great video, man! Where are you from?

  • @JirkaBublinka ashland county ohio

  • I'd get a sharper knife hun

  • Whatever you said.....shave your anus off!!

  • what should u do, skin or gut first?? and does the rabbits around ur place stay brown in the winter,, nice vid!!

  • I raise rabbits and try to skin them right away.I always thought you had to let em drain right after killing. When you pick one up like you did, and it sits and blood pools, does it change the flavor?

  • How do you cure the hide? Do you use burnt wood ashes if you can make a video on how to cure it that would be cool.

  • I can't believe you killed that poor cute innocent little bunny rabbit.

sooo how did it taste? never had it heard it tastes like chicken but they say that about everything.

  • @123456789mischief it tastes a lot like rabbit. lol, it really does taste like chicken, but the darker bits of the chicken. its not like the white meat

  • thats what i call redkneck huntin with a truck

  • shit dude that was good! i can never get the full skin i guess i just need some more practice ;)

  • Why are you smiling ? You are weird!!

  • Sickening! just eave animals alone! you took it away from it's families!

  • @JADEAV lol, that just makes me smile

  • @pk066392 damn rights ! haha

  • @pk066392 damn rights ! haha

  • @JADEAV LOL

  • @JADEAV awwww :(

  • @JADEAV looks like someone needs some NO MORE TEAR SHAMPOO, so shove it up the ass you panzy

  • Every time you eat meat, you're eating an animal that has been taken from its 'family' orz.

  • @JADEAV Observe, my dear Watson. It is winter there, therefore the young rabbits are old enough to fend for themselves. Mating season is in spring, and so the only time where it would cause any harm other than the shot rabbit is in spring or summer.

  • at 3:25 the rabbit looks really comical with its legs up in the air :L

  • still frozen from the shock of the headlights. they only ever look like this when u go lamping or run them over

  • I love rabbit... Yum.

  • used to skin rabbits when i was young with my grandfather, but haven't done it for years and my mate has just dropped off 6 for easter that he lamped last night so thanks for the reminder. Cheers from the UK.

  • Hi Patrick, great video, i have done rabbit, deer, and stuff b4 ri

but what i would like to know is how do you go about tanning your

hides,i would like to learn how 2 do this, so i can make stuff out of it

    thanks

    Brian,

  • can you do that with a squirrel

  • Great video Pat I had to wait till daughter wasn't around to watch we have pet rabbits. I don't hunt them anymore since then but if I survival citation I am not going to starve.

  • Great Video.

If you get the chance can you tell us how to preserve the hide?

    Thanks for the video.

  • @TnShooter Google brain tanning, I saw someone mention it on a video similar to this.

  • Nice one bud.... I know squirrel hide is a little more clingy, but do you case skin 'em the same way?

  • well, yes and no. It depends on where i shoot them and how the fur looks. If they are sub par i just use my quick and dirty method. but if they arent damaged i try to case skin them, grey squirrels but fox squirrels are TOUGH it takes some time to get it right

  • Good job...I do it pretty much the same way....I actually have a vid request about it but I am running out of time :) Maybe next week...thanx for the post 5/5
