  • override erros, res errors, this is bullshit

  • @devilazpl Well then instead try the new AndEngine GLES2 via the link in the first couple seconds of this video.

  • @skaulius

  • [2012-02-24 06:05:51 - AndEngine] Unable to resolve target 'android-8'

    Is the error I'm getting.

    Any Suggestions?

  • @imjustheretolearn Make sure you installed the API 8 component of the Android SDK.

  • I created new "res" folders but I still get errors: "C:\andEngine\andenginelivewallpaper\res' does not exist", so what's happening?

  • Hey sorry to be a pain but I keep getting errors like...

    ETC1 cannot be resolved

    Help...

  • uhclipse

  • Getting this framework up and going has been a pain in the ass but your tutorial has sparked my interest again. Thank you for posting instructions on installing AndEngine.

  • Good tutorial. Thank you very much!

  • Great tutorial, thx!

    PS. Nice wallpaper 8:58 ;)

  • I tried to clone the andengine repository from google site but after arriving here 3:44 I could see the branch "deafault" (Revision 1037) as inactive. After that in the package explorer obviously it can be seen as disconnected. How to proceed?

  • Wait So we have to keep all those projects open to use it? BS :p

  • 'unable to resolve target android.8' error upon installing the first plug in.

    What does this mean?

  • Thank you so much!!!!!

  • Hello @skaulius Thanks for your video!!

  • INSTALLING MERCURIAL MANUALLY... Close Eclipse. Now go to this URL in your internet browser and download/install Mercurial

    h t t p : / / mercurial.selenic . com / downloads

Then go to this URL and download the Mercurial JAR file

    h t t p : / / code.google . com / a / eclipselabs . org / p / mercurialeclipse / downloads / list

Then place that JAR file in your Eclipse installation path in the "plugins" subfolder. Now open Eclipse again and you should be good to go.

  • The Box2D extension seems to be broken. I get a lot of errors.

  • @Turbolord Hi, make sure you watch the second video (Part 2) at about the 6:30 mark on the timeline in order to learn about the special step you need to take in order to get the Box2D extension to work.

  • @skaulius I followed your second tutorial, but that didn't fix any of the errors. Eclipse is showing me the 100 out of 9216 errors. I saved the log here: pastebin (dot) com/S3GTdyjy

  • @Turbolord Have you tried to right-click the Box2D extension, choose properties, then set the Compiler Compliance Level to 1.6? Beyond that I'm not sure what you can try. If you want you can come over to the forums to get more help...

  • @skaulius Yep I tried setting the Compiler Compliance Level to 1.6. I'll check out the forums. Thanks for your help.

  • @Turbolord Is the andangine.jar in the /bin directory of the AndEngine project ?

  • Hey thanks for the quick reply, I'm REALLY new to this so I barely know anything hahaha hope you'll make more videos soon :)

  • Unable to resolve target 'android-8' when i clone the first link

  • @MrY3110w Hi, it will be a little while before I have enough free time to investigate the problem you are experiencing. In the meantime, you can go to the forums at the URL below in order to get more help...

  • @MrY3110w Ok I grabbed one of my old laptops running WinXP and followed my entire tutorial on it. I believe your error is due to when you installed the Android SDK you did not choose to install the component for Android 2.2 API 8

  • @skaulius ok. I went back to the SDK install and did not see any 2.2 options.. is there any way to fix this without having to go through the whole process again?

  • @sirlordwhitman You can also try to go to the Project menu and choose Clean.

  • thanks

but this tutorial doesnt work correctly on linux, eclipse Indigo

  • @El7r1ME Hi, unfortunately I have no Linux experience. You can feel free to go to the forums at the URL below in order to get more help...
