the Idea of the series is based off the books THAT is it. Season one followed the general idea because it built the characters really well. If you read the book though. SGt laguartia dies and the ice truck killer gets away. Second dexter book is about a new serial killer and it's very goryish so they defiantly couldn't use it.

Ummm, only Season 1 was based off of book 1 buddy. Season 2 may have borrowed a few things (very, very little... the plot is completely different)from the second novel, but Lila is completely of the show writer's imagninings.
