Thanks to Veruka for sharing, bikefreeek and others for their comments as well.

I did not invent the concept, but this is my design and build. Its not quite completed yet.

Thanks to the Scallywags bike club (now disbanded?) and their website. That was my introduction to this concept. search with "may day trick".

Zartanlovesyou got me at the rpbc "ratification". search for "somersault bike" this should also turn up a daley plaza show for critical mass.

I must admit that I had my doubts during the construction of this bike, but certainly they have been put to rest. I'd have to say that the flip bike is one of the most impressive freak bike constructions that regulars the streets of Chicago.

And thank you for giving props and credit to West Town Bikes for it's construction, something that has been overlooked by a number of people who have built kinetic construction and human powered art at WTB.

Flip bikes have been made since the early 1900s. If made well, they can flip or roll as many times as the rider wants. Unfortunately Travis Duffy has done a poor job on this one.

Target, of all places, commissioned a fleet of flip bikes during the 1990s for their weird extreme marketing campaign.

I've also seen a two-ringed version and another one at Slaughterama. This is such a one-trick pony that most clubs consider it ho-hum.
