Try playing a 15 gig blu ray rip .mkv file and u'll c how much it will crash and burn :P

Weird, I needed to overclock my 901 to play this video (using eeeCTL to 2GHZ - SHE's "super performance" was not enough).

And btw. it's playing perfectly even on fullscreen on my connected 24" 1920x1200 LCD.

i didnt know the atom made such a difference! my eee 900 with the celeron m has trouble playing 480p videos! and if its flash you better hope it not anything above youtube quality, i cant even do HULU!! aaaaa i want the 901!!!

VGA can sport resolutions higher than that.  You just have to make sure both the graphics card AND monitor can take a sync rate high enough for it.

Looks like that video has been down-sampled, the one VIA used had much higher quality. Thats why your eee plays it instead of struggles with it.

The test they did was stupidly easy to rig, however, I do notice your using WMP 10 where as they are using WMP 11 it would be interestomg to see you upgtase it and run the test again.

Although this is ultimately a poor test from a scientific point of view for numerous reasons. I should think its been done by them to appeal to the idiot who will believe anything the media feeds him/her :P

Can you please test when it's unplugged? It's possible that Via unplugged the machine they were testing which clocked the CPU down to 1.2 GHz.

Try some h264 video content as well, I bet it won't play as smooth. WMV-HD is rather CPU-friendly in that regard.
