I have a question, for the weirder sounding fuzz like the one at 4:21 is it still as loud as if you were playing it straight without the pedal? Like would it drastically affect the volume and with a powerful enough amp could it cut through the mix of a live 3 piece band? I have an old original and would never get rid of it but for me it's not very useful in a live situation. The sounds you can get are insane but require some pretty diverse settings, and no saves available here. Great great pedal but hard to take advantage of live.

i had exactly the same question before. now i've got both fuzz factory and fuzz face lol. i would say if you love vintage style fuzz or classic rock, then get the fuzz face. fuzz factory is sounded more modern and very diverse and suits more with indie rock sound like sonic youth, pavement or dinosaur jr....

@MrJaack it's true bypass. the non-painted versions are the same circuit, just less love went into making them so they price them lower. I've never used mine on stage (too unpredictable in the range of sounds I love most from my Fuzz Factory) but OH MAN it is fun in the studio. My favorite tone matching so far with it is a 2x10" Vox cabinet fueled by a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia, playing a lipstick equipped Silvertone beater guitar.

it's hard to get a good idea of the actual sound quality with youtube demos. there are so many variables that are different when watching (guitar, amp, mic, your sound card, your speakers) they're all different for everyone and they all tweak the sound a bit. these demos offer more insight into the features and controls than the actual sound quality... go try one out somewhere or buy one, try it, and return it if you don't like it. that's what i do...

they are all very different, all depends on how you wanna sound. I prefer big muffs personally, they are very good for the price, have good sustain and give (in my opinion) the best buzz
