@farerse: Don't waste your time with google. @TheAmericanRifleman said she is evil. The Goa'ulds were evil beings from another world who enslaved people. A horrible thing for him to say. This was a beautiful woman with beautiful soul. The world lost a wonderful soul.
you are both sorley misinformed... Do some research or something... The music being played during the clip of bellydancing is called "Im'nin Alu" It's a hebrew worship song like I said. Please read more books...
First of all, thats not from the Qur'an. Its not even arabic. Its a Hebrew Worship song written by Rabbi Shalom ben Yosef Shabbazi in the 17th century. Second of all, you're an idiot...
@NaguibZidan Your response is from 2 years ago, but anyway.... The person you've replied to is referring to the writing that is scrolling in the video. Are you referring to this, or the music? You're better off stating a fact (if it's correct) and walking away. Not calling people idiots.
@ScottKilbourn Agreed. Ofra is my favorite singer of all time, forever, and I am heartbroken she's no longer here to make music. If you have diverse tastes though, there are other world female artists who come close to her perfection. I can recommend Natacha Atlas (techno Arab fusion) and Eivor Palsdottir of the Faroe Islands (Scandinavian folk/world). Both ladies have amazing voices, Eivor especially has a whistle register like no other and can "wail" similar to Ofra. Check out "Livandi Tro."
@ScottKilbourn I prefer to look for artists in Ofra's calibre among other nationalities because I fully believe that there is only one Ofra, even though other Isreali/Yemeni singers have been touted as the "next" Ofra (i.e. Shlomit Levi), I just don't believe in the hype. They don't even come close. I prefer to find, say, the "Scandinavian Ofra Haza," if you will. :) I realize though that not everyone who is into Israeli music might necessarily be into Scandinavian folk or Arab for that matter.
First comment! ~<3 I love Ofra Haza! She was so pretty and could sing so well! I especially love her roll in the move "The Prince of Egypt". She was the mother of Moses. Also lover her son "Shir Ahava Lachayal"
the first time i heard her voice was in this rap song
