@3HenrytheGreenEngine Yep! Now that they are taller not so much of a problem, but at first it was mess watching them try and get to the inner workings, especially the valley section under the viaduct. But then again, as my wife says, who exactly was this model layout made for? ;)
Awesome layout to get the kids into the trains. It's true what they say and im glad you said it to your kids "it's your layout, you can do what you like with it" A nice father you are to take time into building that. I model Electric trains but thomas is how my parents got me started. once again...Great job
@nintendoalien479 - Yeah, but the trouble is that limits the use of the track to this layout, and I already have plans to make something else with the track we have. However, 1 month in and the layout is holding up surprisingly well. Just some bits to sort out here and there but nowhere near destroyed as I feared it might be. In fact, the layout has proved itself to be incredibly robust considering the nature of it's construction.
@Cromford88 - Thanks! It was a labour of love at times, but it looks fantastic in the kid's room. I just wish my daughter was a little older to appreciate it, and not want to try and stick her fingers through the hills every time she 'plays' with it.
You know in the future when your kinds get tired of it you should try selling it rather than bining it. I am sure there will be LOADS of parents looking to get there hands on something like this for their kids.
I honestly don't think it will survive in any salable form. My daughter was already trying to stick her fingers through one of the hills this morning, and they've only had it for less than 24 hours :( Still, I have thought about whether to sell it, and if it remains in good condition I might do so and give the money to a charity.
Amazing job! My son keeps wanting to revise the track layout. Usually in the middle of a high-traffic area! Something like this might change that.

I would have recommended putting taller on the inside so the kids could reach the lower parts!
