Ayn Rand's characters in Atlas Shrugged can be divided into two camps: Industrialists with utmost integrity and fear-laden altruists who deny their own humanity. One could write a similar book (assuming they had Ayn Rand's incredible talent) with narcissistic industrialists and high-integrity "Statists". The John Galt could just as easily have been a George Washington. This is a book about character, humanity, free-will, and it illustrates the value of the precious gift of the human mind.
Ayn Rands philosophy was Objectivism, She was widely know as champion of rational self (self interest) and Capitalism.Objectivism holds that every individual is an end in himself—which means that each individual should be selfish, should live by his own mind and for his own happiness, neither sacrificing himself to others nor sacrificing others to himself. But am sure been used by others to justify there means. So I think the video is correct using her work.
Why don't you explain, dimwit. Anybody who thinks Rands philosophy leads to banking corruption is ignorant of her writings and looking for scapegoats. This is akin to blaming Darwin for Hitlers actions.
@tarossi400 I don't believe anyone said that Rand's philosophy directly leads to this type of corruption. But it describes the idiology of certain of the fraud propegators and how they sometimes justify their fraudulent actions.

Ayn Rand's work is all about honest people working to create value, which has nothing to do with Greenspan or Wall Street.

There are still some real reporters in the NY times. Not all the NYT reporters are bought off.

Greenspan totally rejected Ayn Rand's philosophy. Anyone blaming Rand fails to understand what Greenspan turned into.

Are you seriously blaming Ayn Rand for banking corruption? I'm done.

your comment on Ayn Rand is one of the stupidest comments I've ever read on Youtube.
It's hard to accept that people can be so thick.
