WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS ONLY HAVE 91,248 VIEWS???? I fucking H A T E sheeple! This is real hip-hop and some of the nicest rhymes ever spoken and has been around for so long...yet talentless morons like the ding-dong that made the "Tony Montana" song get a million views in like an hour! X-(
@iluvnwk that is funny! Where the fuck have you been? this came when I was in hawaii and rocking this in tokyo the ropongi district. Eventually people will notice the GOOD MUSIC! until then let them. !995
Since the day this shit dropped Ive been bumping it!! Yungans study ya hip-hop for real, this aint no diss towards what you dont know but yall need to learn about those who blazed the way for todays silly ass rappers. Respect this culture all the way, knowledge is the key, these new rappers seem to be forgetting to teach you this shit!!!
even if i didn't have Irish blood, i would still love this (since every single album from The Roots is a masterpiece)...but the pipes in this just flow flawlessly w/ the beat / verses.
The Roots should be given a Grammy for a brand new award called "Best Artist(s) of the Past Two Decades"
I remember I was a freshmen in high school, playing soccer, and played this for the upper classmen on the team to think I was cool. It actually worked. Ha. 13 years later it's still hot.
Blackthought is in my top five of all time.I can remember back in 93.At 1229 Mich. When i was introduced 2 the greats band of all time.Been a fan since.
this story is true 100% - peep dis- winter 94 on big acid-(lsd)- end of the night after flossin tossin dippin N tripping.on the cassete i copped a week or 2 before release thanks to mr. damon and an extra 20$ at damons records and tapes on the east side of detroit...im on bagley and cass corridor musics stopped and tapes playing nothing waiting to end and flip to the other side,,,and blam i hear this fucking beauty coming from my speakers ,for abrief sec i thought itv was from god.tylsd&root
i remember taking a chance on this album at a record shop in venice beach in 95. i had had too much of a steady dose of wu-tang and mobb deep for a number of months and i wanted to try something different. i took a chance on it not knowing who the roots were. this song was the first one to convince me that the album was worth it. then i started liking the other songs on the album.
This is east coast rap no doubt on the flow and they are from Philly go look at a map kids... you kids probably live in the States and they burned your geography text books so google map that shit. And those are bag pipes
Nah it wasnt a west coast flow...west coast was way more laid back then the East in the way they flowed(atleast more so then East not all artist but plenty)....the Mid west I think had that quicker flow...Bone Thugs in Harmony for example..but this song is classic non the less.
This beat is so tight. off the fucking meat rack. one of my favorite roots songs and albums. Oh how the years go by. Wont ever hear shit like this anymore. :(
There was a certain pure essence that Hip Hop created back then that is truly absent nowadays :( but omg Blowout Comb is so ill!! Such an underrated album!
