How do you use finger control with your right hand while you play snare? I want to get faster with my playing and all of my playing is coming from the wrists. Are there any exercises i can do to help implement the fingers?

@southpaw22k There is a warmup that my drumline uses (and Mostly every other drumliine) called 8-8-16ths..(its in 4/4 time) For example.. rrrrrrrrllllllllrrrrrrrrrrrrrr­rrllllllllrrrrrrrrllllllllllll­llll eight on right, eight on left, 16 on right.. eight on left, eight on right, 16 on left.. If you can speed this up, and keep practicing at a steady tempo, you should be able to improve hand speed on both hands.. Eventually you will get the right hand up to par with your left.. :)

Just from a fellow snare player to another, tighten the head on that snare just a bit, it will bring those ping shots out better. Also watch your consistency if playing areas, when your play your shots it tends to get a bit shaky. Hope this was helpful criticism, if that's what you were looking to get, I suspect you do or you wouldn't have posted the video. Good luck in the marching snare world.

@300kike I really am playing it at that speed. It may sound distorted, but that is because the camera is really close to the snare drum. The vibrations are going to affect the recording with the distance from each other. And possibly because the camera is also on a metal sheet music stand. :P

Very good. Just even out the singles. I reccommend playing dotted 16th notes into straight 16th's (or you can do this with the sixtuplets). Do this both right and left lead until 6's are even. Keep up the good work!
