  • Oh how many times Bird has shot over Jordan.....

  • I can watch this over and over and still be amazed! Long live mj's legacy! Props to Bird, an amazing player as well. Go bulls!

  • that move right there made me an MJ fan and a basketball player

  • thats all there is to it... MJ wins

  • Two of THE best players to every pick up a basketball, Bird clowned MJ and his Bulls enough times to be remembered as one of the greatest.

  • @rob23molina that was good defense actualy. He challenged the shot and didnt bite the crossover.

  • @ragingbull2001 nobody is a 'far better' shooter than jordan. He was an elite shooter, elite means 'of the best' you cant far exceed the highest class.

  • bird is a far better shooter and stradegist but jordan is a better athlete

  • @puffybutrbiscts Damn your an idiot.

  • Mike dropped 63 in this game in a losing effort. But you could see shades of his greatness in the making.

  • @puffybutrbiscts wasn't trying to cross bird so much as he was creating space to get his shot off

  • NOTHING ELSE SAID HE JUST MURDERED BIRD ..

  • @dgsierra10 And since bird is one of only 2 players ever to lead his team(with all of the HOFers you mentioned)in ppg, rpg, apg,FT%, spg for at least 97% of his career....that speaks in favor of Bird not against him. MJ was great but so was bird. Oscar is the other player who did that.

  • lame my ass

  • Jordan and bird are both living NBA legends. Bird was the best three point shooter in the game and Jordan could dunk and move faster than anyone. Both players are great.

  • not bad

  • let me put it this way, there will NEVER be another michael jordan

  • Bird almost stole the ball

  • @76ComicFan Are you stupid???

  • Thats what you call gettin shitted on lol.

  • In head to head games Bird beat Jordan 23 out of 34 games and never lost to Jordan in the playoffs. That tells you something about Bird. But Jordan gets all the hype with all his flashy leaping ability and dunks.

  • @reno93535 That tells you something about their teams. Bird always had a better team in the 80s. Larry Bird himself said Michael was a great player. There was a lot more to Jordan than just flash. He is 3rd all time in points, 2nd all time in steals and number one all time in blocks by a guard. There is more there than just hype

  • @jeditwinz just ignore the guy

  • @MrPlantcity813 Good idea

  • @jeditwinz Oh hes more than just hype...but MJ puts Bird high too. MJ has him as the best SF of all time...and MJ played Dr.J, Wilkins, Worthy, Dantley, Garnett, King etc..Bird and MJ have different strengths and weaknesses. B-ball is still 5 on 5. Best starting 5 is the way to gauge it really, agree?

  • @usnate1 Agree 100 percent. I think Reno was missing that point tho

  • @reno93535 bird had a much better team at the time MORON but even though MJ gave them a hell of a game considering the lack of talent MJ had at the time. Because he took the game to a different level. HELLO he was a great defender as bird showed he lacked here. FUCKIN IDIOT!!

  • HA GREAT BUT BIRD DID MAKE THE GAME WINNER RITE IN JORDANS PUSS. TWO GREATEST PLAYERS OF ALL TIME

  • announcer: jordan trying to fake bird, can't do it. why? because he owned bird.

  • @sourdojack50 Uh, actually I believe Bird and the Celtics won this game. Nice try.

  • Not the exact quote but Mr. Larry bird says "God must be in the Body of Michael Jordan" ultimate compliment...MJ wins

  • @gawkr1 The exact words are "God desguised as Michael Jordan"

  • Was this the 63 point game in the playoffs?

  • yes

  • yha dot forget bird made the game winning shot in MJ's face.

its amazing how good a player can look with editing.

  • @USPSAman

dont foget Jordon has six championships.

    Twice as many as bird.

  • Seriously, the ony thing that sickens me about basketball are the arguments, Why don't you just let LeBron James play basketball, and this discussion can continue when he retires? Why don't you just appreciate for how he plays ball and if you deny hat he is good, you obviously have not seen him play.

Continue this topic until he retires, till then let him play basketball.

  • @8Trails50 i dont think the king gives a fuck about what a couple thousand kobe dick suckers say

  • @thefishmandude It's not about him caring, it's just fucking annoying that everytime I come to a video, I see "Lebron is better then kobe, kobe is better then lebron, MJ Is the best".

    Like jesus, stop arguing.

  • @8Trails50 lame

  • Yes, Jordan was intentionally toying w/Bird....Bird was one of the biggest (and best) trash talkers on the court. On the previous play, Jordan was caught on Bird after a pick, and after draining a bomb, Bird told him "Everytime you come out on me, imma do this to you"...After THIS famous play shown here, Jordan told him "...and everytime you come out on me, imma fo THAT to YOU!".. Both confirmed this in an interview during that "incredible" H-O-R-S-E game commercial... Classic on BOTH ends!!~

  • uhhh yeah Suave Jordan did have an impact. In fact the bulls winning percentage went way way way up. They started making it to the playoffs. Think before you post.

  • Sure Lebron wouldn't win 60 back then, but just because your a non-playoff team doesn't mean your a bad one.

  • dont forget about horace grant

  • The announcer was right, Bird did play good defense he didn't let Jordan past him but MJ, to his credit, hit the jumper anyway.

  • "Jordan trying to fake Bird can't do it".........that announcer is hilarious. Jordan could shake the numbers off of Bird's jersey anytime he wanted to. Obviously Jordan was just playing with LB for the fans.

  • Once Jordan had more help, he made more out of it than Larry could....and Jordan won his titles 3-straight. Then...out of his prime... comes back and leads the Bulls to 3 more titles, granted the 2nd 3-peat team was loaded with talent in that era. Couldn't say the same with Larry.

Jordan was also a good shooter (not as good as Larry), good passer, not a bad rebounder for his size, and great defender in his prime. Larry could steal on occasion, but Jordan's 2nd best in the category.

  • yea, but birds white so thats why its impressive

  • and what does that have to do with anything, killsadie?

  • means bird wins by default.

  • @ClipCoug white people cant ball its the onlytrue good white man who can play and I happen to love bird because somewhere in his blood he must of had black in him theres no way a white boy can dance like him.

  • @remedave Nash

  • @xSLacKerZ nah bird is better but jordan is better than both of them

  • Rodman's prime was with the Pistons.

  • beeblack im sure ur a black guy who thinks hes all gangsta and is racist to whites

  • lol, looks like this was taped with a celly

  • Lol! What happen, shit it happen just that fast lol! Bird later on said the same thing shit just wat the hell happen?

  • Most overrated video clip ever.

An ugly jumpshot on a slow defensive liabilty

  • And MJ had the immediate impact on the Bulls team, taking them to the playoffs and a 10-15win improvement from the year before. He was hut of course his second year, but guided the Bulls to a 9-9 mark when he came back and helped the Bulls into the playoffs. Granted this was all with losing records, but there weren't too many options on that team to go to.

  • Meanwhile Bird took a 25 win Celtics team in 1978-79 and turned them into a 60 win team in HIS rookie season (1979-80), even led the Celts to the conference finals against the Sixers.

Bird also won 3 straight NBA MVP's with Dr J, Kareem, Magic, Barkley, Jordan and Wilkins all around.....Jordan didn't win his until everyone above mentioned had retired or was all washed up

Larry wasn't just a shooter, but one of the best passers the game had ever seen, and he could steal and rebound...best ever

  • Agreed on that...while keeping in mind that you only had to win 1 series to reach the ECF. Jordan also improved a Wizards team as well.

Jordan wasn't around when Larry won his first MVP, was a rookie when Larry won his 2nd MVP, and injured 64 games when Larry won his 3rd MVP. I don't know how many MVP's Larry was screwed out of but Jordan could of had a couple more instead of K. Malone. In the big stage, neither was winning until they had another HOF'er (and Top 50 guy).

    JOrdan

  • Not true. Barkley won the MVP in the same season when the Bulls beat the Suns. Wilkins' Hawks got swept by the Bulls in that same season in the first round by big margins.

  • bird was better than jordan no questions askes, one good clip where he gets crossed...

  • Bird win titles with multiple HOF'ers and Top 50 guys in their prime, Jordan won 3 titles with Pippen and a bunch of role players (good ones), than won 3 more titles with an out of prime Pippen and Rodman.

  • pippen was one of the best small fowards of all times, look at his career stats. rodman was the best rebounder of all times, and a hell of a defender. both in thier prime during the second bulls title streak.

  • bird got his ass crossed

  • bird = burned!!

  • And don't get me wrong Bird is great player unselfish player, maybe the best all around player of all time. Much respect for bird.

  • Jordan is the best ever by far. Bird is great Magic is great. Everyone says bird would be the best ever if he had Jordan's athleticism, but i say if he had that, then it would take away from how smart bird was as just a great crafty player. Jordan was just on another level Bird and Magic will tell you that.

  • jordan is crafty too, plus jordan is all around as well, he can make plays and defend as well.

  • Bird was a better all around player than Jordan. P.S. My uncle had the honor of meeting Larry Bird (business) after his retirement, and he asked Bird who was the best he ever saw...He said Magic.

  • great defence beter offence

  • Why even TRY saying that? Honestly ...

  • One of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Bird will tell you Jordan was better. Magic, Bird's great friend will tell you Jordan was better. When has Bird EVER been in a conversation of best of all time? Never. Bird was good, but a class well below MJ.

  • woah man i think you went just a little too far there you must not know how good larry bird was i dont even think youve even see him play that much. I know and ive seen alot of people on youtube who have said larry bird is right next to mj or better.Bird and Magic would say mj is better than them cause they have class, type in larry bird on youtube and watch the first vid and tell me if hes a class below mj if you still think that your out of your mind man

  • No, it's true. And since I'm guessing you were born in 87, you really didn't see Bird play. I grew up watching all of them (being born in 80). Bird was a great, great player. Don't get me wrong. But comparing him to MJ is just kinda wrong.

  • I would take Bird. He had a greater (and more immediate) impact on his team. Bird inherited a poor Celtics team (worst winning percentage since 1950), and through his impact, took them to the conference finals in his rookie year.

Jordan couldn't even lead the Bulls to the conference finals, a playoff series win, OR a winning record until Pippen and Grant joined.

  • clearly you don't know much about basketball...

  • Oh really? Prove me wrong. Making these blanket statements without substantiated evidence will get you nowhere.

  • thats a bad argument one season doesnt mean that much , according to your logic lebron is the greatest player ever because he lead in his 4th year one of the shitiest teams in the history of sports to the finals. bird didnt win a title until parrish and mchale and denis jhonson all came. bird wasnt as dominant as mj and if you watch film of both of them you would see jordan got way more defensive coverage than bird.

  • It's not a bad argument; it's the truth. Bird joined a bad Celtics team and had an IMMEDIATE impact. True indeed, they did not win the title, but to win 60+ games and make it to the conference finals is truly great accomplishment.

Jordan had no such immediate impact. Since you want to mention McHale and Parrish, Jordan didn't win anything until Pippen arrived. In fact, Jordan's teams never made it beyond the first round OR had a winning season without Pippen. Bird did just fine without them.

  • yeah but lebron has done much of the same if not better than both of them in terms of winning with inferior players, so does that make his better than them? NO

not saying your argument doesnt make sense it is just it doesnt prove a whole lot

  • LeBron hasn't done better. Did LeBron make the Cavs a title contender in his rookie season like Bird? NO. When LeBron joined the Cavs, they had a losing record, and they didn't make the playoffs until his third season.

Currently, there are 14 non-playoff teams in the league: that is a LOT of BAD teams. The league is watered-down, which is why a team with one superstar, and a bunch of mediocre players (like the Cavs), can win 60+ games. In previous eras, this would not happen.

  • You realize that they allow the same number of teams back then as they do now despite the expansion of teams in the 90's. You can't get into the playoffs with a 32-50 record now in the Eastern Conference. In the Western Conference you can win 49 games in a season and STILL miss the playoffs. Do you mean to say that a 49 win team that misses the playoffs is worse than a 32-50 team that does make the playoffs????

  • Please Lebrons playing in the most watered down era in NBA history. Get your head out your ass

  • lol i never said he didnt

  • 1986 playoffs

  • 1986 playoffs

  • my favorite jordan move

  • @remedave - i agree
