I just love the way this whole episode was shot. It really felt like an epic road trip the entire way, and I especially enjoyed the introduction to the Nurburgring @ 10:35. You really get the impression that it isn't just some road course that Derek is going to take on but a genuine German dragon, a creature of pavement and concrete ready to eat the unwary or foolhardy when they make a mistake.

When I was in Germany, we were driving on the Autobahn going about 120mph in a BMW 115i and a Porsche flew by us so fast that I couldn't even tell you what kind it was. Must have been going around 180mph though.

It is kinda disappointing to see Derek drive a minivan at the ring. Especially when he got the choice to put few dollars in from his own pocket to get a real car. As a car show host i would expect him to do just that and not even hesitate. And by a car i dont mean a sick supercar but some rear wheel drive car with around 200hp to maximise the potential of the trip, they can't be that much more expensive. Not cool D, not cool!
