I think Civ IV will stay as my favourite.Even while everyone hate it, i played civilizations from very first one. And Civ4 is really definitive game. All later will be only better graphics and non-important features.
"introducing all new realistic graphics" ?? The guy even said realistic when this is the most cartoonish one in the series yet. Even the octagon squares I don't like. They introduce no new concepts in the game. Just like Harvest Moon if anyone remembers that game. In 1997 it was so realistic for the super nintendo.. now its so fukin cartoonish that it disgusts me. I guess sid meyers would rather appeal to his grandchildren rather than his audience.
Wow, a new game that has LAN support. That's actually pretty rare nowadays. It's not that a turn-based game really need it most of the time, but many games, especially FPS games, do - but they still leave that feature out!
i've never been impressed with the animated scenes (the shorts), but their movements are realistic enough. the game in itself looks fantastic in it's own way. i'm very excited. i like the hexagonal-pattern too. that'll be interesting to play with.
@slayerczar precisely, and i hope the twentieth century goes by much slower, with all the complexities of the modern era. that would be cool. also, i hope the political systems influence the game a LOT more

Civilization 4 was pure shit. Civilization 3 was the best one because it was the most realistic. 4 was too cartoonish and it looks like they're continuing that cartoonish bullshit.
@JigglesJingle YA I want realism! Thats why I play a history game were territories are squares and history is gone through in a few hours. Obviously anything that leads away from that is total garbage! /sarcasm
@librano - Steam works really well for me under Linux already, but a native version would certainly encourage me to start spending money using it. :-)

@JigglesJingle pssst, octagons are 8 sided figures, these are hexagons, otherwise known as 6 sided figures. 6 and 8 are completely different numbers
Also, octagons (nor hexagons) can't be squares.
Also, i have no clue what you are talking about Civ IV looks a lot more cartoony than this

Please release it for PS3. I don't want to have to buy a new computer with windows :-(

Can't wait. Civ 4 can be annoying at times when Archers defending a city can take out freakin Marines and Gunships.

@slayerczar Hey man, a thrown pike poses a fairly serious risk to helicopter rotors.

@slayerczar Logically, pikemen hunt gunship pilots in the forests, while they are refueling.
