I have a pair of Audience 42's and they are without a doubt some of the best speakers i have ever heard.Very non fatiguing to listen to for hours, some speakers you have to shut off because they just suck.Dynaudio are the preeminent loudspeaker designers today.
Bipolar capacitors? Cheap inductors? Copper wires instead of silver? The filter is placed inside the speaker box? And these speakers are supposed to be the best in the world? Give me their best speakers and I can improve on them. But I can understand they have to draw the line, somewhere, or else these speakers would simply become way too expensive.
@1wibble2 ....no, I make my own cables and indeed they are better or sometimes even far better than most commercial cables. I have never tried different power cables. Who knows, it may sound better. Over the last 25 years I have learned that even the smallest changes, here and there, can really make a big difference. But I doubt that any change before the transformer will make an audible change. It's better to add a few capacitors and remove redundant banana plugs and just use the wire itself.
Dynaudio used to produce drivers only. Companies like Sonus Faber etc used Dynaudio drivers. One day Dynaudio decided to stop selling drivers and produce speakers.
B0$e and Dynaudio have very little in common. B0$e is better sales thru marketing hoopla, Dynaudio is all about superb craftsmanship and sound quality few companies match.
Dynaudio is not a company of sellouts who outsource, they make all in house.
I have six pairs of Dynaudio speakers and two center channel. First class
How does it compare to Bose? WTF! If you had actually watched this video, you would have seen the Evidence in the process of construction; the midrange/tweeter baffle is CNC milled from a 6 cm solid slab of Al. It's $90 000 per pair. As much as a new Porsche 911. How much is the most expensive turd of a Bose speaker? $200? Bose is to hifi what the Trabant is to motoring. Pick up a hifi magazine and start educating yourself or visit a high end dealer and listen.
They are far superior to Bose. Morel is just a cheap copy of Dynaudio.I've built many custom loudspeakers using the dynaudio drivers and I can tell you without a doubt that they produce MUSIC not just spl's.Mate any Dynaudio speaker with a high end sound system and you will have music heaven.
There is only one way to compare,go listen to some.Comparing dynaudio to mass produced loudspeakers is like comparing a top of the line porsche to a junkyard volkswagen.
I have been a loudspeaker designer for decades now and I have tried just about everything and not even electrostatic speakers beat dynaudio in all respects.
Well I would say it's overkill for gaming But I can say no matter what the application you will not be disappointed.although you do need high quality amplifier and front end equipment to extract what a dynaudio speaker is capable of.I can say that Dynaudio speakers are one of the very best in world.
And regardless of all the hype in the audio industry I do know what I'm talking about. But if all you want is gaming sound then just get some Altec's or similar for $75.
i am thinking of buying the dynaudio focus 220 II, do you think they would work well with classical music? Up till now i have listined to B&W CM'S, Yamaha soavos's and Elac and none i felt represented classical music well. The only ones that i liked up to now were the Vienna Acoustics Mozarts.
Without knowing what your room size/dimensions are and supporting equipment it is hard to advise.Remember dynaudio speakers REQUIRE high quality;high current;low impedance amplifiers to drive them well.
I find in most applications a bi-amped system utilizing the sub/sat configuration works best for most rooms as it gives more flexibility in tuning the speakers to the room. The room itself is a very important factor in determining sound quality. The focus 110 and dyn sub may be a better choice.
I have the 220 and it sounds beautiful with anything you throw at it. One thing has to be said: the 220 is a bit biased towards bass. This gets less when the speaker is run-in. It helps to have cables (silver) and / or amp that stresses the upper regions. Then you have a winning combination.
you probably havent even listened to dynaudios. you know they also make mobile audio. I hate you bunch of guys who dont know crap about these type of brands. i bet my system is louder than yours and cleaner at higher volume. i get a little over 115db in my highs alone. which of course is dynaudio. jl audio isnt hand made except the 13w7 because they are too afraid someone might steal there secret to making the w7. everything else is made in china or someplace like that. dont talk.
I guess that all depends on where you live in the world.Have you ever heard of GOOGLE?????You might want to try mobile dynaudio retailers in the search text.
Almost any high end audio shop carries dynaudio products.
They're in a way similar to B&W. I'm not saying that they are copies but they share some of the philosophies like 1st order crossovers and non-OEM Basis drivers and so forth. kind of really love them both and I'm just left breathless with admiration.. 5 Stars ;)
Dynaudio is a Danish loudspeaker maker, founded in 1977. Originally Dynaudio built speakers using their own crossover but relying on OEM drivers, but later they started to make their own drivers. Dynaudio has a subsidiary called Dynaudio Acoustics that focuses on professional studio monitor loudspeakers.

@telescopereplicator I bet you'd happily spend $1000 on a silver power cable thinking that improved the sound, one born every minute, lol.
