the problems i have with american idol is that its based on voting, and there are a lot of people that make bad decisions, but oh well about that. the other problem is that almost all of the music shown is mainstream. the one time i think i saw someone sing something that wasn't mainstream was this older guy singing some patriotic song (i forget what it was) but none of the judges liked him, even though he didnt sing poorly.

Late on this, but I think they're honestly working on fixing Idol. And I agree, everything went down hill when Taylor Hicks won. Him winning showed TV viewers were voting for a winner, not CD buyers. None of the 80 year old gmas were going to buy his cd.
