ORL's last last years lineup was built to beat the EAST, ORL's last years lineup was built to beat the WEST. With that said, how can you reach the finals without beating the EAST? bummed it didn't work out with VC and ORL :(
And people are wondering why Orlando isn't matching up as well against the Hawks this year? Orlando made VC a scapegoat but how are those new guys they got in the trade doing in the playoffs so far? Winning any games for them like this?
I think alot of people forgot that Vince Carter is a letal scorer WHEN NEEDED. Orlando doesnt need him to put up 50 a game just to win because they are so balanced and i just dont understand why this guy just doesnt get mentioned anymore....the tides are slowly turning.
i just want him to get to the finals so he can go one on one with kobe. from 2000 til now, i believe that if vc had tried harder he'd have a greater legacy than kobe. and if they meet this year in the finals, you gotta believe vc will let it all out and show everybody that if he wanted it, he'd be the bearer of the torch for the last 10 years not just the 3........GO VC!!!
@WushuDude13 but just like at carters teams in the past, nets and raptors. Raptors there was only t-mac who left the team after his rookie year and Chris bosh as a rookie there was no one else who help him compete with strong teams. In the Nets its was him J-Kidd and Richard who were good but they were missing big men all of the time tats why they were always called the big three becuz of they were ones who always had to go to work to win a game.
Where Kobe had Oneal,Malone,Payton, fisher,Paul,Lamar,Phil Jackson(a legendary coach who coached Jordan) etc to get theses rings to me if Vince would of been wit the LA for them years instead of Kobe you would something just as good or better.
Great game by Vince. This is truely the highpoint of his career for me as a basketball fan, Magic fan and VC fan. A dream about something that always felt like being light years away now suddently seems very close to come true.
Also a shout out to all the loyal VC supporters on VCO. I miss chatting with you guys, but my account is dead, so can't come back :( anyway, stay tuned for the rest of the playoffs guys.
@ashraf2201 I'm not able to. When you create a new account, you have to give up your email, but mine is still in use cause my old profile is still active. I've gotten a new password from VCO, but for some reason they won't accept it..
The funny thing about people who is extremely critical of Carter is the kind of expectation they put on him in order to give him approval. They wanted 48 mins of superhuman performance and efficiency from him, or otherwise he's lazy and "moody". You put the same standard on any other players, everyone would fail to meet.
I'm not sure what it means to be playing passively.
Would you call Paul Pierce playing passively in this year's playoffs? Would you call Joe Johnson playing passively? Kobe had a few really bad shooting playoff games, was that passive or the shots were simply not falling? Magic win over the Cavs at home during the regular season, Lebron did nothing when Carter hit shot after shot in the fourth. Would you call Lebron passive in that stretch?
@jydoctor I think I would for all your examples, actually. I think for Vince it's more obvious by his body language... he doesn't hide it as much as the others do and he's usually less hypocrite than the others. He gets nailed for this and it's not really fair.
I'd love to see him play with that swagger, that fire in his eyes, that desire every time he plays, because, frankly, I don't know who can stop him when he's in that zone.
@MichealxJordan no i think it's because they were ordered to watch dwight all the time that when vince drived they couldn't move because they had to stay on dwight.
VInce blocking that shot and hitting that triple right after is the biggest play in the game. It was a five point swing and the Magic kept pulling away since then.
Bravo Vince! People who said Vince couldn't play defense was blind.
Using "mood" to hit on Carter's past is like saying the Hawks were not in the mood to play defense to explain why they lost. Sometimes, your team is inferior to a superior team, and you lost. No one single player is gonna cover for a bunch of losers. Your Raptors had an excellent roster this year, and were you guys not in the "mood" to play well? jeez
@jydoctor Actually I'm not a Raptors fan... I pretty much hate them. I'm a VC fan, but you can't deny what's pretty much obvious. Like Otis Smith said... VC is getting bored of playing the same kind of basketball again and again... and has to make it more challenging and difficult to make it interesting. He's that great of a talent.
Still, there's no excuse in playing passively. I liked a lot what Vince did in this game... he could do it in terms of effort every game.
@jydoctor It really killed the Hawks... they were like "what can we do to stop this"... seemed like everything went down for the Hawks from that point on.
I loved watching this 2010 Magic team play, so fun to watch.

@jydoctor Vince can pretty much do anything he wants on the court. The question is - is he in the "mood" to do it?

@Raptorel They give the ball to howard most of the time in the first half and vince looks bored, then he takes over in the second half.
